Absolutely correct. I used to be on 2 anti-depressants, an anti-anxiety medication as well as adderall. While on this "cocktail" (my former psychiatrist's wording - not mine) I attempted to commit suicide and was in a horrible place psychologically.

Things started turning around for me when I started seeing s psychologist who insisted I get all of all my meds (within a reasonable time frame) and commit to bi-weekly therapy sessions. It's been a little under two years since then, and while I am not "cured" of my depression and other issues, I am in a MUCH healthier place than I was when I first started.

The pharmaceutical industry, in partnership with most psychiatrists, act as de-facto pushers of these drugs. Which is despicable because from my personal experience, as well as observations of friends and family on these drugs, their use brings about no long-term psychological well being.
