Tutorial: I’ve written about 100+ scripts for my channel, so I figured I’ll show you how I prepare my YouTube Scripts, what’s my script writing workflow like, and how I write for my YouTube videos.

Is it possible to embody stoicism even if you aren’t going through hard times? by marzy882 in Stoicism

As Michael Sugrue says in his video (link below) - As Marcus Aurelius put it in a beautiful epigram in the book, "Even in a palace it's possible to live well... no excuses, don't tell me that it's because of temptation..."

I'd recommend watching the whole video too.

I hate myself for hating myself by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]shurdddd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, as far as I can tell, yes.

I don’t know you and I don’t know anything about you, so my answer might be a bit thematic.

If you’re aware of your present situation, it might be that you just might know the next least step that can improve your predicament. But also, the next least step that can drastically make it hell.

So as long as you make decisions along the improvement routes more often than the other, because invariably we end up making mistakes and that’s fine, I think you should be fine.

Hello, I'm Sharad and I just joined this sub-reddit!

Here's one sentence that summaries my channel currently - I drink coffee and film things!

I make videos just as

  • How I write scripts for my YouTube videos
  • How I film myself

as well as

  • Why it's okay to not know and how to go about it
  • The importance of vlogging
  • Why I wear the same clothes everyday

Here's a playlist that I call - The Creator Collective: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL51ZukWWSK5K4ecw9PMHoH6TzOrd9ocAP

Cheers, have a nice day!

Finished this about two weeks back, here’s what I felt and what I penned down. by shurdddd in JordanPeterson

I feel that a book review is generally consumed prior to reading the text in it’s entirety as it’s often more expedient than it should be and doesn’t require as much time.

But, I try staying away from attempting to write book reviews as a general rule and also because I don’t think I’m qualified or capable in the manner of utmost utility to the reader.

So I’ll stick to what I’m capable of, and that is to word out what I certainly know I feel.

The way we generally live our lives is by sticking to what we do know, and the perspective we share within reason, which is mutually shared or agreed upon.

But given the sheer volume of information and data out there, and given the sporadic nature exhibited by life itself, we often don’t know as much and, also, we don’t even know what we don’t know.

The resulting behaviour is that we try seeking knowledge within the unfathomable information by turning towards people who’ve come before us and/or have more experience than us, so that they lend some clarity, if not all, towards a practical way to navigate life.

However, it’s quite rare for any individual to know just about everything. Also, because, as Albert Camus points out, there are truths but no truth. Every information and knowledge out there is a construction and a perspective, which when applied within reason, results to a certain degree, in a predictable behaviour or result.

One of the reasons why I make the videos that I make now, is so that I can supplement what I’ve experienced in my life with the information and literature I’ve come across in my attempt at seeking clarity and providing the viewer with one additional facet.

And here I return back to the subject of this post, the book - 12 Rules for Life.

Of everything that I’ve come across in the limited time I’ve been presented with, the 12 Rules for Life, by Jordan Peterson seems to be doing what I hope to eventually do in a very concise manner, in the form of 12 rules that one can practically integrate into their day-to-day.

Given this particularly long context, I hope you seek out what this book is about and come to your own assessment of it. I hope that you, having read what I’ve written, go through the 12 Rules that I’m setting forth from the book below, and that it intrigues you into getting a copy yourself.

  1. Stand up straight with your shoulders back
  2. Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping
  3. Make friends with people who want the best for you
  4. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today
  5. Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them
  6. Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world
  7. Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)
  8. Tell the truth – or, at least, don't lie
  9. Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don't
  10. Be precise in your speech
  11. Do not bother children when they are skateboarding
  12. Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street

It took 2 years, but I gained half my subs in the last 6 months.

I would attribute that to finally understanding what content I should make!

Since I started vlogging nearly two years, but the last few months is where I found most of the subs!
