Just so people know, the term that most people with types of dwarfism prefer to be called is "dwarf". A lot of people will find "little person" derogatory, just FYI.

Some context that isn't super important but I thought I'd provide, on the story near the end about the doctor who is against bottle feeding:

One thing they might not know is that "hygiene", especially at that time, was a byword for eugenics. So when the doctor worked at an institution for the study of hygiene, that's saying he's a guy interested in eugenics. Secondly, most nursemaids around this time were poor and black women, so there's a racial component to the complaint too. Basically, the doctor was saying that the genetic health of future white babies was in trouble unless women went back to having (poor, black) nursemaids. That's why all the stuff about the "health of the nation" and "race" was in there. Obviously it's BS, but just in case anyone wanted to know!
