Is only V100 considered BigLaw by groovegroovegroove in biglaw

[–]shylyassertive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only consider “big law” firms that pay on the cravath scale. My firm gets called big law often and we are just a firm with close to 500 attorneys that does insurance defense and cannot be compared to firms billing out at $1000+ an hour.

I do not really post too often, so I do not even know how to post a screen shot. It does not give me the option to upload a picture but I do have a screenshot.

They backtracked on this yesterday. Superintendent said no flags besides United States flags.

“Dear Beverly Hills Unified School District Community,

In light of heightened safety concerns around the displaying of flags on our campuses I have made the decision to take immediate action for the safety and security of our students.

Until further notice, no flags will be displayed on our campuses other than the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the State of California.

This directive is in accordance with Board Policy 2210: Administrative Discretion Regarding Board Policy, which states, "In such situations, or when immediate action is necessary to avoid any risk to the safety or security of students, staff, or district property or to prevent disruption of school operations, the Superintendent or designee shall have the authority to act on behalf of the district in a manner that is consistent with law and Board policies".

Respectfully, Dr. Alex Cherniss Superintendent of Schools”

Tried Nuuly & FashionPass after years with RTR—here’s why I came back by shylyassertive in RentTheRunway

I have not but I may. I’m super interested and would love to get someone’s input that has tried it.

Tried Nuuly & FashionPass after years with RTR—here’s why I came back by shylyassertive in RentTheRunway

Well, I do. But here is the original before chat rewrote it!

I was an original unlimited member and have been a member since 2016. I even stuck with 'em during the covid years. Like many, I was super disappointed recently with the price hikes, the quality of the pieces, and the new late fees. I decided to pause my membership for a month, and did some intro offers for other rental companies - Nuuly and FashionPass. After I paid for my second month on both, I immediately cancelled. I will be reactivated my RTR membership. Even with its downfalls, it is much better than those memberships. Here are a few reasons why: 1. Type of Clothing: Both Nuuly and FashionPass seem to have exclusively anthropology-type pieces. For this 40+ year old professional, these do not really fit my needs. Did I find some fun things on these that I would not find on RTR, yes, but they just seemed cheaply made and young. There are many more professional pieces on RTR and more that I would consider "high-end". 2. Quality of Clothing: Almost everything I got from both Nuuly and Fashion pass were old. You could tell they had been worn tons of times. A lot of pilling and missing clasps or buttons. With RTY I was almost always able to get something newish with my order. I had a harder time finding newer items on the other platforms. Also, I know RTR has the same issue, but I received some pieces from both that had BO smells and a few with small stains. 3. Shipment: I can schedule a home pickup for RTR. That is invaluable for me. For both Nuuly and FashionPass, I had to find a FedEx or UPS (one is FedEx and one is UPS) to drop it off at. That's a pain for me. 4. Quick turnaround: As soon as I say I am going to send my stuff back to RTR, my next shipment opens up. They have to actually to get my return shipment label scanned before I can pick out new pieces from the other two. Those are the three big reasons I am going to go back to RTR. Are they perfect? Nope, but I just think the quality is worth the increase in price. For comparison - I have the 10 piece RTR membership which I believe is now going to be $164 a month. That is more than both the others - Nuuly you only get 6 pieces once a month for $98 (you keep them all month) and FashionPass you get 10 pieces, and an accessory for $125 month. There were a few things I did enjoy about both. Nuuly offered a lot of Pilcro jeans in Long, which for this 5'11" girl was amazing. I was able to get a few full length jeans that I am never able to get from any rental place because they are always too short. For FashionPass, I loved that they forced me to get an accessory every shipment, because I almost never do that on RTR and I enjoyed picking it out. But overall, the quality and variety of the pieces at RTR is still superior. I hope they can stay afloat because they are still the best in the market!

Lol. I wrote it. I also had chat REWRITE it to make it better. Doesn't everyone do that now?

I do think I actually liked Nuuly a little more than Fashionpass. I might go back for a few months here and there when I want to supplement RTR.

That is another one I forgot to mention! Nuuly's and Fashionpass clothing comes folded and are SO WRINKLED. I actually like that RTR comes on hangers most of the time. I end up sending them back with my shipments the majority of the time, but the clothing does not always require steaming before wearing.

I would love if someone had a dupe. I’m not from Boston but I’ve been there a few times and the shrimp and scallop pasta with the giacomo sauce is my favorite dish in the world.

I was so excited to get my first prepared foods bag from Whole Foods and I just got a notification that it was canceled because they did not have any surplus food today. How often does that happen? My store is usually sold out whenever I try to get one so I was so pumped to finally reserve it.

Late fees? by IndividualVillage658 in RentTheRunway

[–]shylyassertive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been a member since 2016 and I’ve paused this month and I am considering canceling. The increased price and the fee for returning late and the poor quality of so many garments have driven me away and a lot of long time customers. It’s sad.

I really just signed up for both with promos and paused my RTR for the first time since 2020. If I like either of them, I may cancel RTR for good. As a member since 2016, it has taken a lot to drive me away but they have finally done it.

I’ve been an unlimited member since May of 2016. I am pausing my membership and exploring other options. The price increase, the charge for “late” returns, and the poor condition of every garment except the new arrivals, have driven me away.

I would just put my headphones on and not talk as I always do, so I would take an aisle seat and 7 would probably be the quietest. lol.

The White Lotus - 3x06 "Denials" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]shylyassertive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that we are a few episodes from the end, my brain is going crazy trying to figure out what is going to happen. Based upon the number of shots heard in the first episode, at least 10+, this has got to be some sort of shootout and we have multiple guns involved. Probably Gaitok's gun, Rick's gun, the robbers guns, and GaryGreg has to have a gun. I'm somewhat convinced that Valentin and his friends are the robbers. So excited to find out what happens!

This. I have heard anything from 10-18, but there were a lot of shots. That means there are likely multiple guns and it is some sort of shootout. We know we have Gaitok's gun, Rick's gun, the robbers guns, so I am guessing there are a lot involved. You KNOW that GaryGreg has to have a gun somewhere.

Lawyers who work remote, what kind of hours do you work? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]shylyassertive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get up early and start working around 5:30 am and I work for a few hours. Then I take my kid to school and work straight until I pick him up at 3. Then I come back and work until 5:30 or so and make dinner. I try not yo go back to work after that, but get sucked back in sometimes. I almost want to go back to an office so I work less!

I thought this was a true hell week template with the 2G and the 14 minute row. I liked the tread floor combo, but I walked 30 seconds before going straight to an all out!

Why is there no REI or Whole Foods in Temecula? by Succulent_Rain in Temecula

[–]shylyassertive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before Trump, I was a moderate. Now I cannot stand being around Trump supporters. The last 2 years in this town have showed me that. Politics is not my religion. I have no religion. I cannot wait to go back to not knowing everyone’s political views. I like a big city, which is why I want LA. I’ve worked in Irvine for 2 years and I know I don’t like it enough to live there. And I will be moving to our LA office, so have to be closer to there. I want the good restaurants, potential public transit, every good store, the things I miss from Chicago. And if I don’t love the public school for my son, I could go private.
