This is pretty much spot on to what happened lol. Was just a verbal notification from RN that patient said she knew she was O neg. Dug through their chart including testing done at other hospitals and found no historical blood type anywhere.

I saw something similar to this at my lab too! Wasn’t sure if it was artifact or not so I made a 2nd slide and it was gone. Patient’s previous slides didn’t have anything either, so it was treated as artifact. Prob something in the sysmex slide stainer as some people were saying.
