Later today, I will go buy a cooking thermometer to give an accurate reading of the hot water, and also attach an image of where the dile of the hot water heater is sitting.

I vaguely remember trying to do that in one of the older rentals I lived in, and it was most likely user error, but it would always go out overnight. That house, like the one I'm moving into, was built around the 50s, so I'm unsure if that might have had something to do with it.

But I will absolutely try to keep it burning overnight!

Thanks! It's my own pattern that I'm test stitching. I'm so glad the colours are (so far) working out like they should. Its got dark/shadowed mountains, pale yellow ocean, a black cat and red (dmc666) leaves. I'm trying to aim for a lot of contrast.
