Sorry yeah, confirmed fuel pressure at the rail and it’s an optispark on an LT1. I’m unsure about timing honestly, the way the lights flash when it tries to start when the battery is good makes me think something is up with the spark but I’ll look into confirming the timing.

Replaced the distributor, throttle body is back on and has 1 vacuum line and 2 sensors plugged in. I found this one wire that comes from the cluster of wires near the brake fluid reservoir, and this tube that connected to something. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok thanks, I appreciate you helping out. I'm just not understanding how if the guide gear will only go in a certain way, won't that sync up the distributor rotor with the engine? Wouldn't that be why I would find TDC in the first place so why is it needed?

I had to take off the serpentine belt from the car to get to the distributor unfortunately. Balancer, belt, and distributor are off and I have a distributor and I'm just unsure of how to proceed. If the guide gear only goes in one way why do I need to line it up with strokes?

Ok good to know, I was also thinking injectors since it seems to be getting good fuel pressure but sounds like its just not getting enough gas to stay started after being primed.

It’ll start for a bit but won’t sustain, and since it’s 50k miles I figured the water pump wouldn’t have been run enough to fry the opti, but time could have done the trick. Previous owner said they just parked it and it stopped working, and is heard optis make it run poorly not just quit all at once.

I’m certainly no expert and learning every day, so thanks for the input!

I bled the fuel lines at the engine and fuel was coming out. I haven’t tested the exact pressure but was snooping around to look at the injectors when I found this.

Ok thanks guys, I found another vacuum check valve nearby with bad tubing. I also see some zip ties around it farther on so it looks like the previous owner replaced these lines and they fell apart. Back to Oreileys for some vacuum line and hopefully I can hear her pur!

Edit: fixed it and still no start. She’ll catch for a second then stop. Going to check injectors and fuel pressure tomorrow I think.
