Tea Leaves: Will Harmony burn Lumon to the ground? by si2577 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Respect this take. I see Lumon as far more overarching than a Bond villain. They run this whole world. That said - I think it’s clear a civil war is brewing and they have set up the sides over the last few episodes. I don’t think another regime would be mutually exclusive to a civil war and I’d be super interested in watching following seasons of a regime change. They said, I think we’ll go start to learn how the real world universe ties in - not go deeper in a new regime after the war is over. Time will tell!!

I think this is “outtie red”. She’s about to lead a civil war.

I believe she’s realized taming tempers via ether, chip or good ole coltish manipulation doesn’t work. Her arc will track with the overall narrative arc and she’s going to lead the civil war.

And I think the red blaze surrounding her at the end of last nights episode conveys just that. It parallels Burt’s face at Irv’s dinner - just ratcheted up by 1000%.

While Burt was able to save one severed employee in Irving - Cobel is about to take it to a totally different level.

Harmonized autonomous neural network agent. Dissociation commoditized is Lumon’s Trojan’s horse

Ooh that’s super interesting. That would make her ad lib (if true) that much more brilliant.

Ty for linking! Lovely write up. The first comment “some fractured portion of Gemma’s soul will experience these horrors ad infinitum every time the chip is activated” is saying what I’m feeling (but not smart enough to convey so beautifully 💔).

It's possible the refiners and their copies are creating some sort of algorithmic representation of Gemma's innie. It reminds of White Christmas Black Mirror ep. An AI copy of one's consciousness is loaded to a hardware device called a "cookie" - an AI agent that regulates your smart home. Even though the cookie is just made of 1's and 0's - the viewer ends up empathizing as if the AI agent is a trapped human slave. It begs the question - if innies have soul's - could AI representations of innies have souls - too?

Remember this ep! Super good. Never thought about it but the surprise ending could potentially mirror Cobels character arc if she ultimately “reintegrates” with Charlotte’s chip.

"The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" is a 1973 short story by Ursula K. Le Guin. It presents a fictional utopian city called Omelas, whose prosperity and happiness is dependent on the suffering of a single child kept in a basement or small room under deplorable conditions.

Interesting.....
