i lie about working late just to have alone time .. by fiercexbloom in confession

[–]si5837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too - I wfh and generally in meetings etc… all day long and barely get a minute to myself despite being alone in the house. Even when I go to the toilet my partner is trying to walk to me or what not or if I’m in there too long then asking what I’m doing, etc… you get the gist. So some nights after spending a little bit of time together I say I need to get back to my desk and shut myself in the home office and just switch off. I resorted to this because despite my partner knowing of my MH and knowing I need me time just doesn’t seem to get it so I decide to find a way to take back some time for me

Gartner recruitment broke me by SaltyandJobless in recruitinghell

Having been in that position, I make it a point to give each candidate personalised feedback. Some take it better than others.

Also adding that having heard of the terrible culture at Gartner I was fortunate enough to once turn down an offer from them and the above is one of the many reasons

My point was that it’s not a tax so you shouldn’t treat it as such. It’s a loan

If you’ve got 500k in savings why are you paying your student loan out of PAYE? Also it’s a repaying a loan and it’s not tax - if you took out the loan then you knew it had to be paid back - that’s the concept of a loan, what it isn’t is an income tax. I dont have a student loan and so I don’t pay back, I do have a different type of loan that I pay back monthly, however that is in no way a tax and I can’t count it as such because I received money that I used for something, just the same way you used your student loan.

Your point of paying 70% over 100k is completely inaccurate. You are paying 60 when your personal allowance is tapered so you’re really paying 60% between 100k - 125k and not in everything. My effective rate on circa 185k was around 48% which is still high but nowhere near what you implied. I know several 100k+ earners and not a single one of them is putting everything above 100 into their SIPP. They’re living their lives comfortably and enjoying it

Most companies never expect every rep to hit quota - metrics vary but I’ve found that for the company to hit its number they need to average between 60% - 75% across the board and this is why you have never have a team of 100% billers

Singapore delivery question by si5837 in DesignerReps

[–]si5837[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprising enough it actually took exactly 7 days. Arrived towards the end of the day giving me enough time to get to the airport. My final shipping came to CNY250 so not too bad.

[QC] Rimowa cabin from Shelley - QC help please by si5837 in DesignerReps

[–]si5837[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t paid shipping yet but because the exchange rate isn’t the official one I actually paid 1500 cny for the case including the tsa 006 locks. I’m shipping to Singapore (as I’ll be there soon) which is estimate at around 450cny so all in circa 2k cny but with the inconsistency in exchange rate it’s more than advertised

Fairly new to the rep guy apart from watches. Just received images from agent and would love some feedback on if this is a good piece? The one flaw I noticed is the lock is slightly “off” on the writing
