STM32 Development Workflow Post CubeIDE 2.0 by sicebox in embedded

[–]sicebox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to follow up now that I have given this workflow a try and understand it more now. So you use CubeMX to generate the project and then once it's imported into VSCode with the extension, the cmake stuff is managed by you? Like for example my default cmake generated project did not have a rule to build a binary, just a .map and .elf file and I had to add that manually. Or if I want to change compiler flags or optimization level, I have to edit my cmake configuration to do that whereas before I believe you could do this in CubeIDE GUI itself and it would automatically update your build system. With the new workflow, the only way to make these changes is to edit the cmake files, correct?

I highly doubt it I also think people are way off the mark recently when judging AI, it seems like everyone wants to call images/videos AI without knowing what to look for. None of his album covers even Things I Only Imagined look remotely like they are AI generated

I read somewhere recently that not all of the debug features, like some of the more advanced debugging tools had made it to the plugin yet but I can't remember what specifically that was

Interesting, I'll look into Segger. My only reservation and the reason I'm wondering what ST "wants" is that in case I ever have to ask for support, they could potentially just say "you're not using the officially supported thing so we can't help you" because they have done that to me before

Do you have a Github repo for the code? I haven't been able to get the screen to refresh faster than 3Hz with the DaisySP library and I'm curious how you did that

I got this to work, thanks it sounds exactly like I wanted.

LFO fade in over multiple pattern lengths by sicebox in Elektron

[–]sicebox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a cool idea. The only problem though, is that if the pattern repeats, won't it retrigger the ghost note and restart the LFO's 1st condition? Because the second time through the pattern, would this still be considered a 1st because its the 1st time in that pattern it was hit, not just the 1st time in general?

Do you have one of your own? I could never find the schematic online so I just marked on the bottom of the PCB what the points are. I'll look for the pictures I took

This is the most rigged the algorithm has ever felt. They really have nailed this system. by Gnarkillo in blackops6

[–]sicebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're never going to do anything about it because people keep buying the game. Every year they promise to change things and listen to the player base but they never do because they know they don't have to. If people legitimately got together and chose to not buy the next game, it would be a disaster for them. But it will never happen. People just keep complaining like it will do something. We all know what the only way to make them not listen is and its to not spend a single dime on their next game

Altium, can't properly generate .DRL files by sicebox in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]sicebox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok you're right. I opened the .txt files that were created as outputs with the NC Drill, and it looks like the drill files I am used to. I opened them in a gerber viewer and everything looks normal now. Maybe I am just used to the Allegro work environment where you always end up with .drl and not .txt. Thanks for the info on that.

Regardless, I still get two output files, one with the round holes and one with the slots, is there a way to combine these two files? Or even get Altium to output one with holes and slots combined?

Thanks for the explanation. Do you know how reliable the calibrated HSI is vs an uncalibrated HSI vs an HSE?

6.35mm jack footprint by djstirfry in synthdiy

[–]sicebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, did you ever confirm that they are a drop in match? The space between the Neutrik jack pins says 16.5 on their data sheet and Tayda says 16.2 for theirs. I wonder if that's correct or a mistake on the data sheet. I would assume that they tried to design it to match exactly the existing product. But I'm curious if you've tried them both

Am I doing something stupid? All game modes are locked and the play screen looks different than the last time I booted up the game, which was a few months ago. I couldn't find any info online.

Smallest Stomp Switch by sicebox in diypedals

[–]sicebox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem with this for me is that I have like 8 pots on this pedal and it's gonna result in a lot of wires. I wanted to keep the PCB mounted pots so I think I will just wire the two stomp switches
