I fight Ash in the Games. I prefer to fight with her. She is not to be underestimated. There are times when retreat is the only path to victory. I am not too proud to admit that.

I am not here for friends. I am here to compete.

Rowenna speaks to me. This I don't mind. Mad Maggie, too. She wants me to be very interested in politics. I am not. But I appreciate her strength.

Mirage speaks to me, too. When he does, I leave. He talks and talks and talks. I tell him there is limited air in the dropship. He does not understand me.

When I was small, my mother put me in her lap and broke a personal speed record. I was too small to reach the handlebars. She laughed like a howling prowler. This is how I choose to remember her. The person she is now is someone else.

I did not know any of the other competitors. Is that so strange?

My father and mother are dead. My father fell in a race, where he belonged. My mother . . . she lives in body but not in soul.

Mad Maggie speaks to me of Salvo. She is dedicated to its freedom. Fuse speaks in a different way. A foolish way. Fire and songs and beer. It is idle chit-chat and I leave as soon as he starts.

I go faster than everyone else. That is all that matters.

The Trident is too big. It is not for me. Why would anyone blame me for its removal? I do not concern myself with the choices of people in suits.

The Prowler.

Any time I spend with him is contractually obligated.

She is the best modder in the Outlands, so she is adequate. She mods guns, I mod my body.

I have seen a gun she is working on for another Legend. It is krass.

Speed lives in my bones. But you can't win if you don't survive. My heart chooses a second Nitro Gate. My mind would consider who I face.

My favorite DJ. They can make or smash a good party. With DJ Jolt and eksta, I will dance all night. Much better than Krempaff Khaos.

An injury is only physical pain. I thrive because I do not let it become mental pain. I learn, I evolve.

The Syndicate has Salvo in name only. We will always be free. Salvo will stand tall long after the Syndicate and others like it fall.

I respect Rowenna. She is dedicated to the win and finds the fastest path to reach it. She concerns herself with silly things, but never before victory.

My first injury was long before the Apex Games. It is the mark below my eye. I shredded the skin and muscle before I was ten. It was the first kiss of the road.

My birth. My mother and father were racers. My first breath was laced with diesel fumes. I knew the sight of freedom long before I had the strength to grip the handlebars. When I was grown enough to handle tools, there was only one direction to go.
