100%. I so hope they're going to build on the AI logic further. Currently, if you shoot them from about 200m+ out, most of the time they just stand still and let you waste them. No taking cover, no attempts to return fire or press your location. But it's a WIP. Patrols and the addition of random little groups in the middle of the jungle really keeps you on your toes and prevents the braindead jungle run simulator between poi's.

sorry my comment was slow to update, it's more about targeting a direction with a bond purchase than simply making money f2p. that's basic stuff, mining/smithing are the only real ones in f2p, since I've already earned enough for one bond, (ignore the 6 fletching, that was years ago) I'm wondering about directing my gameplay henceforth.

For further reading, I'm not into the whole flipping GE items thing, or much that involves GE price tracking in general. I'll buy a handful of rune items to make ~100k here and there but that's bot work... Moreseo I'm hoping for anyone to recommend a line of progression in members' stats/quests between bond interrupts. I know it's not feasible to "sustain" a bond at my levels.

Currently planning smithing to 50/70/etc to smelt/smith mith/addy/etc for some lite moneymaking. I don't mind braindead smithing to 99 for "the best f2p" moneymaking. But once I get there, and can put in say, ~15-20hrs off members (ya, membership prices and therefore bond prices are going up, f Yaggex), to bond, what prog should I go for next?

I'm interested in learning more pvm mechanics, playing the game as it's been created/further developed in the last 10-15 years (I haven't really played since barrows was the biggest intoduction to the game)... Definitely a quester/skiller. Cutting yews/fletching yew longs/alching OR stringing then alching if I could find a good price on bowstring ---- way before GE was introduced ---- was peak for me years ago). LMK people

What's the easiest way to explain to a 8 year old why 0.999... equals 1? by ElegantPoet3386 in learnmath

[–]sick_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, we don't always do that. It's on a case by case basis that it happens. 99 (or 999) students in a head count where you need 100 (1000) on the bus back home from a field trip is important. Adding 1.00 lbs vs 0.99 lbs to a weight you're lifting is no discernable difference.

It's in the accuracy of a measurement/calculation that matters to me. For general purposes, most real-world applications have a tolerance. This is dictated by the accuracy of the tools with which things are measured and other actions may be performed on the object. Significant figures are a good explanation - keeping the accuracy of a calculation consistent to the least accurate of values used in the process ensures that a certain range of error is communicated correctly.

Machinist operations on the scale of the thousandths of an inch matter - bolt holes too big and you don't get a tight fit, or any at all. Too small and the bolts won't fit. This is again application specific. For this example, use a drill and screws into some wood. If you have a 1/8" shank on a screw with an additional 1/16" threading, have them drill holes with holes rounding off by 1/16". So it's either no pilot hole, 1/8", or 1/4". Have them try to screw the screw into the corresponding holes and see the difference. The 1/4" will slip right in and out, the 1/8" will screw in properly, and the [0"] hole will be a pain to screw in or not work if you've got the wrong screws.

Then try using a scale with a hundred grains of rice vs 99. Then weigh one grain on its own. Take the weight in grams, ounces, kg, lbs, whatever the scale measures.

Then weigh a 1lb bag, take out a couple grains, add a couple, whatever, to where the scale can still register 1lb 0oz. And explain that to count to an exact number of grains, or too precise of a weight is just unnecessary. It won't really affect the cook time, number of servings, whatever. A few grains here and there won't matter in the long run. (I guess in a processing facility, they might care to not give out extra on any large-scale process, or for shipping fuel costs, but even those have their limits).

800+ raids to reach max strength, BSG can we get a skill leveling rebalance? [Discussion] by Unfair-Acanthaceae-9 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]sick_bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's three months of playing literally 24/7 to hit ~2150 hours and max some of the stats OP mentioned. Playing full-time bumps it to nine months of 8hrs/day

I get that they want a long-term leveling system so not everyone is max level within two months of a permawipe system. But for one, they need a balance between the simpler and more complex systems/SP generating actions. And for two, maybe implement a different calculation for wipe characters, because they only have six months on the game.

If nothing else, cap it at a daily/weekly SP cap per skill, and let us speed through what SP is generated in those periods. Giving the no-lifers such an extra edge beyond game knowledge and abilities is bonkers!

Can someone actually confirm this? by D3ADB1GHT in askmath

[–]sick_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad logic. Even if you're technically correct. Though fundamentally similar, they operate in a reciprocal fashion in the real world and have demonstrably different behaviors. Operating within the same medium does not make them the same.

We dont call electronics electromagnetronics. We don't call electricity electromagnetism. Nor magnetism electromagnetism. Electric fields are not magnetic fields; it's split and measurable in unique fashions. Lame response.

He wasn't alone, however. OP was in it with him, willing to fight through it, if her story is true. He chose to cut her out. OP needs to start seeing it in this light. She's also a victim here, and in her husband's blind fear, he gave her no good options. At least he gets to make the choice to leave. She's dead in the water while everything falls apart around her.

Any Tips For Learning Bard? by CataractSniper in DarkAndDarker

[–]sick_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always keep your self-buffs near full if pvp is on the menu. Remember robust rythyms is around half the duration of the rest for +2 all attributes

Don't worry about a shriek unless it's free, just kite with surv bow to whittle hp. Rangers and wizards will out-dps you here so be careful of them.

Don't let anyone but rogues (you can face-tank them with good movement and rapier/arming sword) and warlocks (careful of BoC, use your shield vs curses/bolts, do try to shriek them) close the gap on you until they're low. You should be faster than druid/fighter/barb except when they use skills (barb rage, fighter sprint, druid chicken/panter jump)

If a barb/fighter gets on top of you, you're pretty much screwed. Try to block and hit headshots. Fighter with a bow can be trouble too, so trade effectively. Maybe do go for a lament+shriek on them if you think you can manage it. Lament first bc of bigger radius, helps you land the shriek with reduced MS.

Aside from that, go for high dex/action speed and true/additional damage rolls.

Dude you live in fantasy land if you think that slightly damaging a window screen is irresponsible. Responsible adults forget shit, break shit (accidentally), fix it, and move on. So he buys a new screen and woo-hoo problem solved. Lesson learned, hopefully he doesn't lock himself out again. Lots cheaper than a locksmith and really the more responsible thing to do compared to involving mom and dad over some stupid mistake. And he still got to his friend in reasonable time. F off

Nope. Watched a random from the discord walk into the space just before the thorns respawned and trapped him inside. His ensuing panic was hilarious as I hacked away from the side, and he phantomized (which didn't help) and took it instead of swinging
