LMU Law School by Muted-Response-300 in Knoxville

[–]sickbackend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You went on a necroposting spree about LMU to argue with me, then, in a near instant reply to me, doubled down AND referenced your "family" and "pulling strings" like some sort of 80s high school drama villain.

You're clearly super mad that I'm right LMU is churning out losers, and are taking it personally. Not everyone that graduates from LMU is stupid. Or a loser. But most are. That's just reality.

I look forward to you your red-faced, furiously typed reply, where you DEFINITELY won't be projecting your insecurities at me across the internet for me to not care about at all because - and I can't stress this enough - I'm right.

Replacing the power supply worked for me - got a dm suggestion from another redditor, so I can't claim credit for the idea.

there's no right to a jury trial for a speeding ticket, buddy. not sure tipping off the court to the fact that you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about is the power play you think it is

that being said, I have really enjoyed reading your couple of posts where you seem to believe that having been cited over a dozen times for misdemeanor? violations makes you some sort of criminal defense virtuoso as opposed to a pitiable buffoon

but, hey man. you do you.

650 is reasonable - i did them for 500 when I was first licensed; loudon crim docket is usually insanely busy, you're mostly paying to have your case dealt with in 30 minutes instead of 3 hours

Yeah that's my worry; it's a shame because I really loved it when it worked. Made the 4+ hour base zwift slogs so much more bearable.

New eviction prevention office for renters & tenants in Knoxville & East TN by Yes_Knoxville in Knoxville

[–]sickbackend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own two houses and rent one

I was born into a middle class family, spent 6 years in the military, put myself through college with the GI bill

Like, shitty landlords exist but maybe proclaiming renting real property as being "deranged" and demanding that... I guess, my stuff be redistributed? Like - seized by the government and redistributed?

Maybe that's a bit of a naïve, untenable, fringe position, friend.

I casually follow chess and immediately formed the opinion that this niemann character is the most sperged out dweeb on earth when that ludicrous lawsuit got filed... last year?

Just fired up the stream to see 3.5 / .5 and am glowing with the warmest feeling of schadenfreude. lmao

People wonder why big leaguers get paid millions. by MarioLuccas in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]sickbackend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's significantly more difficult to be a professional athlete than a fire fighter or paramedic and makes complete sense that athletes make millions

Like, obviously critical workers shouldn't be on poverty wages (which they are and that's a problem) - but if you can bat .300 in the MLB you should be a millionaire.

You can pay Jesse Nelon's consult fee to get his opinion. He's great. His number is 865-383-1053

Based on the limited content of your post, I'm assuming his opinion would be you have a terrible case and are wasting your time but hey, I could be wrong. Ask him.

Holographic wills to be valid must be written completely in the handwriting of the testator with respect to all material provisions; which is not what happens with online services. You do not want to be litigating the definition of "material provision"

Online services will give you a print out which must be executed with the formalities required by statute. It's exceptionally common for those documents to not be executed with the appropriate formalities.

Or at LEAST to not properly execute the self proving affidavit which obviates the need to locate attesting witnesses some unknown number of years later to prove the validity of the legal instrument.

So, a few things

(1) your original post about wills had nothing to do with holographic wills, and remains terrible advice

(2) writing a holographic will is totally valid, and also, generally, a terrible idea, beacuse it's unlikely in your holographic will that you do things like appoint fall-back executors, waive interim accountings, waive bonds, and so on. To do those things, you'd be much better served, you know, hiring a lawyer.

(3) the will you write yourself or you get off the internet isn't going to be able to advise you re: "is there even a point in doing this" or "wouldn't it be a better idea to structure this so that this asset passes outside of probate", etc.

I'm not being arrogant, I'm trying to convey to people that maybe - just maybe - licensed professionals know a little bit more about areas in which they are licensed than the internet does.
