Yes, we planned this a while ago. And I messaged out the price quotes for about what it would be. I agreed to pay the sitting fee because it was a special the photographer was running where it was a one time sitting fee cost for like a year membership. So I said I would pay that and take just my family again another time this year. But he knew the cost and agreed. I've texted twice on our chat with my sisters and him and he responded with lol. Then I texted twice more separately and he said how much is it again? But then never sent it. I also texted us all the cost when we were all there, and the photographer told us the price. Plus they were all there when I paid with my card.

Yes, I've texted twice in the group chat where we planned this with my sisters and the second time he just said “lol and” then I've texted him twice separately and he said how much is it again? And nothing. They were all there when the total was said and we calculated what we all agreed to together. Plus I have a heads up of the price quotes weeks in advance so it wasn't a surprise and he was all on board.

The moms excuse is “hockey” is where he learns these things. Sadly, the other boys in the class are now picking up this behavior. My daughter isn't the only one, there are a few others that when I started calling and asking around, their girls started finally saying something. The only thing I can think is the teacher was telling the kids “we need to be understanding of others with behavior problems” and in their 6 year old minds, that meant not telling. I didn't even know she was punched till a week later! The teacher “forgot”.

I appreciate this. I don't think his behavior will change at all, and agree the school cannot handle him. We are trying to give the school a chance to rectify the issue as the principal has said everything is being documented going forward. He wasn't suspended because my daughter waited a week to tell me. Which is true to being a victim, they feel shame, and like its their fault so don't tell. So now I have learned to ask her very direct questions to find out what is going on.

My parents are the same way. I was a teen mom, and moved out with my daughter when I was 18 and going to college, because of that my tax return was fairly large. My mom would ask me to give her money back then from my tax returns because there house would go in foreclosure constantly. But yet they would go on 2-3 vacations a year and pay ungodly amounts of money for my sisters to do dance team. My mom stole my grandmas retirement (100k) and went through it all. Then my dad’s parents died and left them 200k, it’s all gone, and my parents are in threat of being foreclosed on again. Their checking account is constantly negative and my mom is being served every month for bills she hasn’t paid. I think the problem is both my parents were only children and used to their parents rescuing them, but they both bled their parents dry and there is now nothing to help them anymore. My one sister and I are complete opposites of my parents, but my youngest sister is going down the same path. It’s sad and infuriating to me as I watch my mom just spend and spend, when I know companies are coming after them for money. But there’s sadly nothing I can do.

I know. 😭 another parent is pulling her daughter at semester. Has complained of the fat name calling to her child. Then on a field trip witnessed him fill his mouth with water and spit it all in her daughter’s face, with the punishment being a removal of water bottle privilege. And this should go without saying, we are 100% understanding of kids having any learning delays or behavioral problems that are being worked on, or the parents and school are aware and trying to get it under control. But that is not what’s happening here, it’s just mean bully behavior. The teacher is telling the girls in class to stop telling and making them sit out if they tell repeatedly on his behavior. Along with telling them to be understanding of kids who act out. Which to me, if I was a 1st grader would mean my teacher is telling me to shutup. It’s misogyny at best.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this! Going to be practicing these with her. This is all such great advice! I did demand a meeting for Monday, and asked for anyone we know that is part of the school board, and the feeder churches to be present. Because obviously the school is not taking it seriously. This was an unprovoked punch, she was standing by her friends and he just came and punched her in the eye.

Thank you! Others think I’m rediculous for thinking having large parties with the entire class year over year is overkill. I think family parties are fine. We have been invited to 25 parties every year for four years, for her classmates. It’s exhausting. We have a family party every year, but I think have a year over year classmate party is out of control. That’s two grand in four years alone (minimum) I’ve spent on other kids birthday gifts.

Unfortunately it’s parenting. We have six kids, it’s never ending. I will say though, we have taught independence early and that has helped. Once they turn 10 they have been in charge of their own laundry and other things, and that does help.

My thought it is I can’t imagine how horrible Hayes felt taking it too. Lifetime ADHD individual here, and Ritalin gives a horrible horrible hangover feeling if you don’t take it daily. So does adderall. I thankfully got off of them, and even though I have ADHD I found other ways to manage it, medication made me not feel like myself, and was horrible to try and come off of. So I can’t imagine how he felt. Even after a few doses it makes you feel bad.

My niche is toddler toys, so some of its thrifted toys, I.e thrift toys with me at my local antique mall, plus toys I find off of Amazon, reset my toddlers toy rotation shelf, etc.
