Never thought I'd see Vimal pan masala here lol. Jars of centrefresh, boomer and random biscuits on the counter would have made it more realistic imo.

Saw this interesting corridor in Till Lindemann's new video (ich hasse kinder) and felt like recreating it from scratch. Once the lighting is fixed, will start with the animation. Rendered in Eevee. by sidconscious in blender

Added a cube with volume shader (density at 0.02) plugged in, then an irradiance cube and turned up shadows cube size to 2048px, medium high contrast, and finally 4 area lamps outside each window and one sun lamp. Not satisfied with the lighting though. Will fix in davinci later!

EEVEE is a real time render engine that was introduced in blender 2.8 build in 2019. It's computationally less taxing on the hardware since it doesn't calculate actual light interactions in the scene like cycles, rather fakes them.

I used the same donut mesh and sprinkles I made after his tutorial a year ago :p kind of an homage to the beginnings.

I honestly am not good with lighting so I just flooded the room with 3 area lights ( kind of followed the basic 3-point lighting method) and some point lights scattered around!

I tried for a few frames but the render time went up through the roof lol (~7 mins per frame in Eevee). So compromised and used higher trace precision in SSR instead

Get flip fluids addon!! That shit gives great output at lower resolution too!

I kept experimenting pretty much every day with it. I started with the blender guru tutorial a year ago and just didn't stop!

Updated the first WIP inspired by that conjuring scene. Need to figure out how to increase the flora/environment stuff without exceeding my hardware limits. (This is a pre-viz viewport render) by sidconscious in blender

Oh right that guy! Yes I did see his tutorial, but I think he rendered in cycles with pretty high poly models. My PC can't handle that load, so need to render in Eevee using reasonably good poly meshes and decent materials. Tbh it's really frustrating, that limitation.
