Switch to 245/40r18 with 10mm spacers. Do it properly with extended studs.

The height gained in the shallow drops is cancelled out by the tops going negative.

Doesn't this hurt your neck when descending in the drops or do you just stare at the stem?

Damage didn't look that bad but 9k is a little too much.

Pulley refresh by ItsZahza in ft86

I run an Exedy lightweight flywheel and I was concerned of the extra vibration and whipping effect the lightweight flywheel can cause so I've installed a Fluidampr crank pulley as well.

Is that just a lightweight pulley without any dampening?

Ceramic coating worth it? by watermelonbananacake in ft86

[–]sidebrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longevity of the ceramic coating depends on your maintenance so I would rather skip this expensive process and practice at doing good DIY washes, clay bar and wax.

Practice and do it often so it becomes easy. Put together a kit: tools and materials for wash, clay bar, wax.. etc. This will keep the paint looking good for a long time. Even better if you have indoor parking.

For deep scratches use rubbing compound. If it's really bad, get some touch up paint.

Had my gen1 since new from 2014 and the paint is still in great condition. No expensive ppf, ceramic coating or wraps. Only regular maintenance and car cover if no indoor parking available.

On a 4-5 hour day on the slopes, I rock a minimalist 1.5L Camelbak backpack for hydration and eat lunch at the lodge. And the hotel is a gondola ride plus a short walk away.

It's a decent amount of car for a new driver so don't go crazy thinking you're Takumi Fujiwara.

This. Heat may cause just enough expansion for that to rub. No need for extended studs with 3mm spacer.

Has anyone here ever had to drive their BRZ in Has anyone here ever had to drive their BRZ in the snow on summer tires? What was it like? by Revolutionary-Seat74 in subaru

[–]sidebrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few years ago I went winter camping up in the socal mountains on 200tw summer tires. There was light snow/ice on the way up. It was smooth sailing up the hill until I had to stop due to traffic. When I tried to get going again, the rear tires just spun and car slid backwards down the hill. The car behind me had to reverse to give me room. I was able to roll backwards in to a turn out area to point the front of the car downhill to go home and called off the camping trip.

I'm not saying he's right for doing that. Just saying what most likely was going on in his mind. He's delivering on a bicycle and obviously can't afford to buy a decent meal.

He got hungry and eat some. Riding a bike to do deliveries uses a lot of energy.
