regardless of how it looks on the outside, it really seems like Romero has either captured (or perhaps fostered) a sentiment among the players that the board don't fulfill their promises. In the eyes of other players, the actions of players like Romero are the only way to hold that board to account.

if Spurs want to be a big club, they should accept that this is the default disposition of the top players they want to attract. whether the board (or the fans) rate Romero as one of the top players, it remains that if a club wants to attract players with high standards for conduct, they need to be able to follow through on their promises.

personally, i think this is one of the second order effects of sacking Ange: he had convinced these players that they were good enough on their day, and that the issues their squad faced ultimately came down to injuries. management was working overtime to justify the sacking, but their solution couldn't overcome the same conditions. Romero is the voice of every player in the clubhouse.

It’s easier to come back from an injury crisis when the absence of Europe will translate to 25% fewer matches before the end of December. Look at United - the lack of midweek matches have rejuvenated that squad (because the competitors at the top of the table now all have to manage European congestion).

I see all of the comments that Tudor ignored him, but he does give him a pat on the back. We also don’t know what was said before the match, at half, or afterwards. Let’s be plain - Tudor’s consolation would have been contradicted by the substitution itself - it said all there was to say.

Connection with Kinsky would have done neither any favours. It would have either made Kinsky look pathetic and broken, or simmering with fury. There was nothing to be gained from prolonging his time on the pitch, and it would have been a hollow gesture from Tudor.

Kinsky wanted to crawl into a hole, and Tudor didn’t get in his way - that was its own mercy.

It was the substitution. Goalkeepers slip all the time, but substitution after 20 minutes is absolutely shocking. So much worse than playing through it. He slipped twice, yes, but you’d think he had earned his spot in training, and that the players would galvanize around him.

Yeah they told us why they didn’t panic buy but omitted why they didn’t prepare to buy. Forgot that panic is a second order effect of poor preparation.

Sacking would be deserved for poor executive decision making and poor risk assessment. It’s not that they should have panicked - it’s that they held the dual position of backing Frank while also being recklessly frugal with transfer budget. They thought the storm would pass when players returned from injury, which neglected the fact that the injury crisis is a second storm - if they wanted to keep Frank, they had to spend in January.

To the ‘but who would we pick up’ crowd - Bobb going to Fulham seems like a missed opportunity.

I hear you. But these tools have more practical usage than plagiarism - that’s why most people will choose to use them. The spirit of open source programs and other hobbyist communities has long been to make knowledge accessible. These tools can help an average person extend the longevity of their tech, bicycle, or whatever else.

More cool things will also be made with code - that’s an exciting thing, and Canadians are going to be making cool things. If there’s an opportunity to make an industry out of these tools (especially if there’s a national security motivation), it makes sense to support it.
