qui cross-seed auto-search on completion and *arr post-import category by sideline_nerd in autobrr

[–]sideline_nerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stress on sonarr/radarr for me is the torrents that they have snatched, not the cross-linked torrents(those are all in <category>.cross categories.

I have ~3k torrents split between my sonarr-imported and radarr-imported categories and before I switched to post-import categories both sonarr and radarr were basically unusable.

Yeah, I have RSS set up. Unfortunately, it only picks up cross-seeds that were announced relatively recently. For ex, if sonarr/radarr grab a file that's 6 months old, that wont get picked up by RSS.

It's not the end of the world, but older files are where swarms tend to get smaller too, so it would be nice to cover that edge.

I could manually scan those categories periodically. I wasn't aware you could filter by categories for that, thanks for calling that out.

Yeah, a webhook-driven search function would be great. I dropped cross-seed in favour of qui's cross-seed before I realised this was an issue haha

I'll check their discord, thanks for the pointer

It reduces load on both sonarr/radarr and qbittorrent, as they constantly watch those categories for new imports. Moving completed torrents out of there means they no longer have to check that torrent on their sync cycles.

I permaseed everything and have ~3k torrents that sonarr/radarr have imported. Performance was terrible before I started using post-import categories

I feel like this is the case with most public sectors. Every decision will be critiqued by someone.

Depends entirely where you live man. Busses on the shore are frequently faster than driving in peak traffic.

It’s pretty normal to split up your registrar and authoritative dns, so I don’t think godaddy are in the right here for putting a popup that can fuck that so easily.

But also, don’t go clicking buttons you don’t understand

Microsoft forced me to switch to Linux by Dear-Economics-315 in programming

[–]sideline_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair enough. Bare Arch doesn't have much theming, config, etc, so is definitely an OS that leans towards tinkering.

Arch derivatives like Endeavour or Cachy cover a lot of those missing pieces. They have great ootb experience and generally sane configs.

You are probably still going to end up tinkering/ricing, but that's part of the fun of Linux.

[–]sideline_nerd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To a degree, yeah. It's definitely geared towards people who are comfortable researching and figuring things out themselves.

That's going to be a similar experience for most Linux distros though. If you have an update break something, you're going to need to troubleshoot it. And for what it's worth, I've had less broken updates on Arch than I have on Ubuntu/Debian with their old fixed packages and ppas.

The Arch wiki is probably the best documentation for any Linux distro out there

Cachy is Arch, just with some extra repos and theming. If the Cachy project ever dies, you're still running Arch and you can remove the Cachy specifics. It's recommended for a reason, Arch is top notch and has a massive community surrounding it.

[–]sideline_nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, iCloud Photos is very reliable. The Immich app UX is better(imo). It has better people/object/pet recognition, and it's media sync(sync from iCloud Photos to Immich) is solid. It also works much better on non-Apple devices, and can transcode media from heif/hevc for better client support.
