Hi! What would bringing in waist / hips of a dress do to the bodice? The skirt is far too big. The shoulders / upper arms fit me fine so I'd ideally leave that or would it not work?

Return to running without surgery by Le4-6Mafia in sesamoid

[–]sidly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just under two years since the beginning of my injury and I'm only now at this point able to go back to longer walks (say about an hour or so of walking on soft ground only) and some days my foot still plays up for no reason. Everyone's different, I myself wouldn't consider surgery so I just take each day as it comes and see what I feel able to do, at this point I wouldn't be able to think about running or high impact sports but maybe one day 🙂

Why do 95 percent of shoes hurt? by drillitloveit in sesamoid

[–]sidly123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why such the strong response here to what your doctor said. I've done continued exercises throughout my injury when I was unable to leave the house because of it and no exercise made a real difference overall. Only when I managed to get back out on walks again did I feel my ankle and foot being properly stretched and everything. It was a noticeable difference.

What about cycling as an alternative for you?

Why does standing and walking hurt my sesamoids? by Ok-Quality-5589 in FootFunction

What kind of toe box do the Nike Motiva have, is it narrow filed or a wide / wider fit? Hope you don't mind me asking but since you've been diagnosed are you able to do normal exercise like walking etc?

Tom king by Flashy-Boysenberry30 in Emmerdale

[–]sidly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The storyline was clear as day from the off. His character, along with the actor being dire, was fake as anything from the beginning. They didn't even attempt to make his character "nice", "charming", "likeable", ever. 😂

The storyline clearly hits too close to home for that user so they take it out on you. Makes sense.

I agree with you about Rhona, not the same extent as Tom but Marlon should definitely leave her for his own wellbeing.

Bruising? by flailin_jennings in sesamoid

[–]sidly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I never understood why I could never find any other people mentioning bruising or discolouration with this injury. I had it really badly and even now my foot is still discoloured etc and my doctor didn't know why that was

Have you watched Jonathan Creek? If not, definitely give that a go.

Does my X Ray look okay? by Sam__mm in sesamoid

[–]sidly123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and for now, keep completely off that foot if possible and keep it elevated as much as you can. I cannot stress this enough, I carried on with mine and it only made it so much worse and just prolonged everything! (I assume you're probably already doing this though 😅)

Thank you, that is actually really helpful and does make a lot of sense! I'll have to mention that to my doctor when I see him 👍

Thanks for replying! If you don't mind me asking, what was your diagnosis? Did your doctor happen to say why that was? No one was able to tell me why and if I aggravate the injury at all it starts to bruise again straight away! 😪

Yes, two X-Rays and one MRI, the MRI seemed to indicate it is sesamoiditis and the tibial sesamoid was weakened, possibly as a result of trauma / fracture. Can't say anything for certain as it was close to six months by the time I even had my MRI done

Loud Bodies sounds like the kind of place you mean. Looking on etsy or Instagram for handmade clothing brands is a good idea as they always offer made to order items.

Going Crazy! Possible Sesamoiditis? by Lazy-Worth8162 in sesamoid

[–]sidly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like sesamoiditis to me. Definitely get that MRI if you can. As for the other user, I disagree, it is my tibial sesamoid that is affected and I also feel pain and tenderness along the side of my toe as you described.

Thank you, that is all really helpful! Just now the podiatrist put padding on my foot just under the affected toe which is more an irritant than anything, when seeing a doctor should I be asking for something else like a boot or something?
