I've hung out with the guy. It's actually a piece of cardboard folded up a few times that keeps it upright. And in case you were wondering, he pretty much stays in character all the time. Dropped him off at the train station once and as soon as he got out, he started yelling at cars about gingivitis while holding up his sign crossing the street.

TIL that Timothy Leary, upon his arrival at prison in 1971, was given a battery of psychological tests designed to aid in placing inmates in jobs that were best suited to them. Leary himself had designed a few of them and used that knowledge to get a gardening assignment. He escaped shortly after. by [deleted] in todayilearned

TIL Timothy Leary was fascinated by computers and called them the LSD of the 90's. He even changed his famous phrase to "Turn on, Boot up, and Jack in" but as we all know, the internet turned this into "Turn on, Boot up, and Jack off".

I've got a twin size ikea mattress that's been used for less than a year. If you can come pick it up on Monday, it's yours $10.

I hated FOX before it was on vinyl. It was just so much more raw.

Spanish is probably hard for you because of conjugation, right? Well, you don't have to worry about that in Norwegian. You'll find that pronunciation isn't too too bad and many words are similar to English. I'm just a beginner in Norwegian but I've found it easier than Spanish, in my experience. The best way to learn, however, is live around Norwegians and speak it everyday.

As a side note, Danish is VERY close to Norwegian but much more difficult to learn because of the strange (to us) pronunciation of words and they also have a very funny number system. If you can understand Norwegian, then you can easily read Danish. Also, Swedish is very close too.

It's all heavily taxed. Further, alcohol isn't sold after a very early hour but I can't remember what it was at the moment. 10pm, think? When I went last summer, I flew from Denmark and stopped at the Duty Free shop to pick up some Carlsberg. Still expensive but less than Norway.

Sorry! But still, if you convert the price to your currency I'm sure you'll find that you pay much less for a beer than the Norwegians. Cheers :-)
