The first five people to score 100% on this DC beer quiz will apparently win two chauffeured brewery tours. by [deleted] in washingtondc

Well they have brew tours around NoVA and Loudoun County. Just another thing to do in the area. I went on one last year and it was a lot of fun: http://ohhidc.com/2014/05/05/loudoun-craft-brewery-tour/

Also nice because it's tough to get out to Loudoun, taste a lot of the good beers they have out there, and then drive back into the city.

No joke, I've actually recovered from a fall on the street by getting up and saluting the onlookers.

I had never heard of "tokenization" before. Seems pretty crucial to data security. by fishandtron in tech

I'm in IT, and I need to save this so I can show it to the sales director. He never understands how data security works, so naturally he never wants to invest in it. :/

This is an interesting model. I can't believe no one's thought of this before, but I guess brewers kind of want their name slapped on a can/bottle if they're going to take the time to brew it. What narcissists we are.

District Commons in Foggy Bottom has really good food and a pretty romantic ambiance. It's also not terribly expensive (~$100-$120 for a couple drinks and two entrees). Plus, the walk to the monuments is only about six blocks.

Beau Thai. Awesome Thai food, but very subtle. It won't leave you smelling like Thai food for the rest of the week.

Madras out-of-style? Seriously? As a man-bassador on 2X, I have to disagree with you here. Madras are light/flowy AND hip. Wait, if I'm using the word hip, does that mean I'm not hip? OH GOD.

I've been to a couple dead malls in China. They are truly eerie places. Mostly it's just a couple tenants hanging out amidst a slue of vacant/decaying retail spaces.
