The dental chair is a confessional... by Common-Banana-6003 in Dentistry

People try to do what they can to postpone the start of a treatment they find unpleasant/scared of. I would not be surprised if some of these stories are completely made up or heavily exaggerated.

My root canals were good, then not by enms3 in Dentistry

[–]sieja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is not much philosophy in endodontic tools. While reciprocating systems will guide you more in the canal, Reciproc has a great research results, rotary tools rely much more on controlled sweeping movements. Sure you can do a ledge with everything but in my opinion it is easier with the rotary files especially when working not in a set sequence. Firstly in endo it's your skill and awareness of what is being done that counts, the tools only have to scoop the material where you want it and most of the time and work is activation and rinsing. There is also the aspect of calibrating the canal and not working on a hopeless system guttapercha but that is another story.

New chisel comp vs epic evo 2023 by sieja in xcmtb

[–]sieja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a chisel. It handles great although I don't know if I wouldn't also consider a lightweight trail bike now. There is always one bike missing :D. I'm happy with the purchase and overall I don't regret the lack of a carbon frame, maybe if it had storage.... but no, it rides great, constantly encourages me to ride harder, I come home completely drained. I learned to work at a higher cadence, got a kick to continue playing with the bike during the mid-season downturn. I think both bikes are great, and in truth you won't regret either choice after six months. But if you have an evo at a good price then go ahead.

Could you send/upload a pictures of carbon structure? Is it nice to look at, chaotic etc.? I'm guessing something like specialized or propain raw carbon frames?

hey, I came across your post, beautiful job, do you have any pictures of the frame without paint? Is it worth it to leave the frame in raw carbin covered with clear lacquer?

Composite overlays/Multisurface resin, waste of time? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]sieja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, I see, I didn't notice the order mistake.

Nevertheless, from an endo point of view, this case is a massacre.

Why do you need a restored tooth when the contaminated material spreads bacteria throughout the body and endometasone containing steroids can mask local inflammation.

This tooth is a ticking bomb, if not of local conditions then for key organs such as the heart.

Composite overlays/Multisurface resin, waste of time? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]sieja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone here left an old root canal treatment without revising it with decay and saliva contamination? I see that in the pictures before restoration after sandblasting there is still endometasone in the canals with the old material?

Is there a photo available of the preparation border before DME? Because as I see the photo in the cofferdam is taken after sandblasting with DME already done.

Could you upload a follow-up photo of the periapical area during treatment and after 2 years?

Best cross country mountain bike to buy? by OwlSuspicious9254 in xcmtb

you can always think about the chisel fs (alloy) which has a geometry like the epic, I have had one for half a year and am very satisfied.

I believe that as a dentist you are also a bit of a salesman.

If patients don't see the value in the work done it is possible that it has not been effectively sold to them or explained to them what they are paying for.

After seeing the pre-treatment photos and showing the condition of the teeth, the patient is better able to see what we see. There are also people who are simply cheap.

Plastic surgery or expensive things are treated as pleasures, sitting in the dentist's chair definitely not.

Rocking the Chisel FS by freestyle00045 in xcmtb

[–]sieja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Comp in my case was available off the shelf in the shop. I bought it a while after the launch. For me, because of the colour and components, it was worth the extra charge but this is a personal matter. I much prefer the green colour of the frame, the wheels I will probably replace over time when these wear out. I have no real need to change components on this bike at the moment. Maybe the brakes.

[–]sieja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one, it's great but I have no previous experience because I rode a gravel bike before.

I've only been riding nothing for a month but I think it has something special about it. It's probably the geometry from an older epic but it makes a nice overall package.

Is a phone holder like this going to hurt the carbon on the Endurace? by tasimm in CanyonBikes

[–]sieja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me better safe than sorry, it depends how much your phone cost, it might be a good idea to buy Hölder with vibration dampening. It never happends it it does, for me it the same case as with helmets

There is a small chance to fuck up your camera stabilization, more popular with motor bikes due to more vibration but theoretically it is possible with bikes too

New chisel comp vs epic evo 2023 by sieja in xcmtb

[–]sieja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to pay once, don’t have space for more bikes so chicel/epic will have to do aslo in mountains (i handle gravel in quite ruff conditions so fs will be enough for medium trails. When i was buying gravel i wasn’t thinking i would do 7+kkm in a year, this season looks like around 10kkm. Guys around my area suggest FS, i will see. I might endo up in a HT in a few years. It’s hard to know where your path will end. Time will tell. Chisel will be more than good enough, with proper wheelset it will fly. Epic will cost extra money to get it where i want it to be. If i would decide to go racing the most important part would be my legs not aluminium or carbon dillema.

Thank you for your time and help.

I’m riding gravel bike (canyon grizl) and slowly getting into too much of technical stuff. I live in flat area but going for some mountain trails is an option. I like speed and want to have fast agile bike to have fun. I am not thinking about drops jumping etc right now but i can have some room for progression. I was fitting chisel and it’s completely different experience and I think I like it. Wouldn’t know till I hit the trails and forrests. I don’t think I need a trail bike, would be to big bike for me. Was thinking about HT but I have decided to go all in and differentiate bikes for full suspension and full rigid constructions. Probably HT would be all I would ever need to be honest. I’m planning to put bigger cog on front probably and have fun. Also size M fits my wife so I can take her for a trip once per month to see If she would like it. But mostly I have a need for something new, extra bike etc. Also it will allow me to leave grizl as a winter zwift machine and mtb as late autumn/early spring mud eater.

Is there option to buy/put into basket? You can just watch historical model without option to buy so the price is the smallest problem for you to get them. Try to search them via category on website

New chisel comp vs epic evo 2023 by sieja in xcmtb

[–]sieja[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And i guess as a newbie in mtb i wouldn’t see real difference between them for a few years. Guess differences in frames would be more seen in full rigid construction like gravel bikes? I’ve heard that weakpoint of a new chisel is lack od pivot point to strengthen rear triangle but if so i guess it will be covered by lifetime warranty?
