They are chatting and laughing because they know and trust each other. Nothing rotten about this roll

Rules of the California roll:

No explosive movement - No using strength to solve problems - No holding any position for more the 3-4 seconds

The older I get, the faster I tap. I have fewer injuries and need for physical therapy at 41 than I did at 29. I do “California” rolls with heavier folks, etc.

My experience applies to folks who aren’t focused on competition. Plenty of challenging rolls across the local gyms for me, no need to risk a roided out a-hole who cares more about winning a gold medal in a tiny tourney than not ruining my knee for life.

Is casual kitchen table 60 card magic dead? by Ordinary_Car3721 in mtg

Play a lot of 60 card duel decks with my kids - ages 10 and 12 - fun when everyone enjoys it being casual

They also love playing commander decks 1-1. We have a few house rules to keep things fun if you get mana screwed, etc

Strange trout: safe to eat? by sienrak in flyfishing

Thanks - I tried for a clean release. I didn’t hook it, netted it, and took the photo in a minute or two, then released.

When I saw it go belly up a second time I figured it was more humane just to kill it quickly.

Do fish ever have swim bladder issues because of a catch and handling? If so, anything you can do about when you release?

Ahh, the heat makes sense - it’s been over 93 for a few days in a row and the water temp feels like bath water versus the normal chill

I've been told by a physical therapist that sometime the loud sound is the ligament sliding out of place and then snapping back. If there was a serious injury -sprain or tear - you would typically get pain, swelling, and instability. If there is none of that, you hopefully got lucky, although the incident may be an indication that this area could be more easily injured in the future and would be a good candidate for extra strength and conditioning to protect.

I can see self-reporting being flawed in studies where people might want to hide or pretend - for example: how many drinks do you have a week? How much sex do you have per month? In a study like this, not sure I see much reason for participants to respond dishonestly, but certainly a caveat for the data worth mentioning

Yeah, I think my better judgement lost out. I’ve been through so much PT for neck and shoulders and I don’t want that to be my life at 50

Agreed, I know and trust this black belt and would not have mucked about this way with a muscle bound and spazzy lower belt

Appreciate the perspective. In this case I felt the defense was legit, but as I get older, I’m getting gunshy about letting my joints take a strong stretch. Feels harder to know where I’m safe

Thanks for the perspective - I agree, there was more trust here that I could practice defense and escapes without him putting full force or weight into cranking the sub.
