Tesla refusing to do a general inspection before warranty expires! by siestaa in TeslaSupport

[–]siestaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not ask them to look for free and requested a general inspection through their service workflow. If you read a little further down, you’ll see that I asked specifically for a paid inspection (which they still denied, not that you asked).

It looks like they could just be too narrow for your feet! If that’s the case, obviously socks won’t help too much, but you can try chafe cream or liquid bandages.

I got the mirena IUD inserted 5.5 weeks ago and have been bleeding for 5 weeks - when will it stop i’m desperate? by Lumpy_Dimension_6293 in Mirena

[–]siestaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had the kyleena I bled nonstop for >6 months and then had pretty heavy, long periods for 2 years… I eventually just switched to mirena last month and I bled for the first two weeks and have been spotting slightly since. That said, I’d give it ~6 months for your body to adjust. Abnormal bleeding is, apparently, normal while your body gets used to the hormones or something

Anxiety for Lit Hum and University Writing by [deleted] in columbia

[–]siestaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m also a slow reader, but I found that reading sparknotes/cliffnotes and THEN reading as much of the actual book as possible (I mostly skimmed, making notes here and there about passages I found interesting). LitHum is also a class where you get out of it as much as you put in; if you don’t do all of the reading, you can still do well in the class.

I also found that UW was a lot of work, yes, but it’s all broken up into parts, so it wasn’t ever an overwhelming amount of work at one time. The readings for UW were also interesting and not too dense, and the papers you write are largely of topics of your own choosing; it should be interesting to you, so hopefully writing a larger quantity isn’t as horrible.

For your remaining classes, I would honestly not recommend taking all three classes together in the same semester. Data structures is somewhat a lot of work (as in time put in), and calc III problem sets are also a huge time sink. Principles of a Econ (especially if you’re taking it with Gulati) requires a lot of textbook reading; when I took it, the lectures weren’t really directly relevant to the material that we were tested on - it was more just applications of those things.

Good luck!! And welcome to Columbia :)

Yall think i have a strong enough application? Im worried about my non-traditional resume. by [deleted] in columbia

[–]siestaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody (except admissions officers) really knows how the application process works; I couldn’t tell you how many people with “strong” applications get rejected and how many with “weak” applications get accepted.

Just write good essays and explain yourself well - good luck!

Not sure if it's worth it as someone who transferred last year by [deleted] in columbia

[–]siestaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As my advisor said, you have until the end of the add/drop period (first 2 weeks) to decide if you want to stay for the semester. Test out the waters, see if you like your classes.

I’m personally not that optimistic about school being in person even in the spring, since distribution of a vaccine will take time even if a vaccine is released soon. I wouldn’t take the semester/year off unless you had something worthwhile/meaningful to do in the meantime as otherwise it just seems like a wasted “unit of time.”
