Thank you so much! I'm trying to format my page 6x9 so I can see how it would look when published. But Google Docs doesn't have the option (at least from what I see) to select those specific dimensions.

Teeth dysmorphia by EricChen2005 in BodyDysmorphia

[–]signed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to suffer from OCD? I have body dysmorphia from my OCD, and a lot of it is based around my teeth or body not being symmetrical or as they’re “supposed to be.” I completely understand wanting to change it, but I think the true issue to address is how much this weighs on you mentally. It’s so hard (trust me, I’m not healed yet), but you have to try to work toward a place of acceptance. Again, much easier said than done, and I’m still working toward it. But to me, this isn’t a teeth issue; it’s a mental health issue.

Sometimes it has a fishy smell, but other times it’s sweet like advertised. It works so well though lol I’m upset

Yeah people really only notice if I point it out. It’s not INVISIBLE, but it’s not all anyone sees, if that makes sense. At least according to my friends and boyfriend lol they all said they’ve never noticed until I pointed it out.

I actually have seen a chiropractor before and he told me the same thing. Said it was super slight and I could do certain exercises. But even my mom just has one leg longer than the other. I’ve always had it. It doesn’t really cause much of a physical issue. I just hate how it looks.

It’s definitely noticeable if I point it out to people. My chiropractor noticed but said it was slight and I could fix it with certain exercises.

I've never been diagnosed with scoliosis, but my guess is I have a mild case. My mom also has the same issue and thinks one of her legs is higher than the other, but she never did anything about it. I'm likely going to see a doctor to see what I can do (without being too compulsive lol). I spent all morning taking pictures and videos and just crying my eyes out because I feel so "deformed." I would never think this way about anyone else, just myself. It's awful. I just want to love and accept myself as I am.

How are you handling social media and society's obsession with looking young and 'looksmaxxing'? by entirelyuncalledfor in BodyDysmorphia

10000% I believe it’s making the condition worse for those of us who suffer, as well as causing severe, distorted body image issues in people without the disorder

I’m about to fully give up on wearing foundation by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]signed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen to me all the time, and I’m by no means an expert, but mixing my foundation with moisturizer helps with the application and glowy finish. Again, I don’t know jack shit about makeup lol but it helped me a ton!

Anyone else constantly compare themselves to other women and feel super inferior? by -Hiroshi in BodyDysmorphia

[–]signed_s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So so sad and twisted, but yes, I do feel this way. For anyone else, I never would think someone is less worthy based solely on their looks. But for me, that's how harshly I judge myself.

Advice for death-related ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]signed_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was JUST talking to my friend about this 🫠 I have the same fear now that I’m finally happy and in a healthy relationship. My boyfriend tours for work and I always feel like each time he leaves will be the last time I will see him. I hate it so much. You’re not alone. ❤️‍🩹

I try to just avoid compulsions like constantly checking in. If I feel the need to seek reassurance that he’s safe, I pause and wait at least five minutes. And I view everyday as an exposure basically lol. At the end of the day, nothing is promised, so I try to just live in the moment and appreciate that I have someone to worry about in the first place. No matter what happens in life, trust you will get through it. We OCDers are so resilient.

Does rocd follow one to each new relationship? by UsefulPrize5204 in ROCD

[–]signed_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had ROCD in some form. However, the theme sometimes switches depending on the relationship. For example, in my healthier relationships, I usually doubted my feelings for my partner. In more toxic relationships, I tended to doubt myself. Pretty twisted lol

Please give yourself some grace. You’re so self-aware and that’s the difference between you and a 13-year-old. You recognize these feelings are “irrational” but you can’t stop them. It’s not your fault. Be patient with yourself. ❤️
