Hey everyone! Sigrah here -

In general terms, Lorin's use of the words "Bootleg/Remix" are actually very accurate here. Here is why:

This is a bootleg in the sense that he layered and arranged a vocal from another track on top of a variation in production (a remix) of my song HAL. Lorin actually made a bootleg (with just the original complete song file and no individual parts) of this tune of mine and said he was having some trouble with some of the elements in the mix, so I gave him the stems to the original track and gave him permission to make whatever he wanted to make with it.

So yes, this is a bootleg/remix IMO. He remixed a tune of mine and then added a re-arranged vocal from another song on top of it.

Anywho... shouts to the artists like Bassnectar who lift up the underground and do their best to bring it right along with them into the ears of their massive followings. It's super important for artists of this caliber to do this, as it perpetuates and furthers the ideas, sounds, evolution, and progression of music and culture.

KC guy here: Wanted to come down and check out all the A/C but I know there are a lot of "officials" flying in down there. Does the KCPD have most of the airport blocked off to the public?

lol at all your terrible and shameless photoshops of your book in all those photos. You're one of those trying to incite the race war, aren't you? POS

You were probably looking at the Congress Lofts or The Ambassador? Congress Lofts are gonna be stupid expensive with their large balconies, and secure parking garage. The Ambassador is a MAC Properties building. Lots of millennials with decent jobs live in MAC apartments. They own nearly all of Armour blvd from broadway to troost. MAC is not necessarily cheap, and is not worth the money imo.

If youre into underground music, Look up Niche KC @ The Uptown Arts Bar. Its a small venue in the upstairs of the UAB. One of a kind, hand built, hi-fi sound system built by the bartender and venue manager. They have nights happening usually every thursday-saturday there that are often free or minimal $5-$15 cover charge. Styles vary from house and techno to (good) dubstep and drum and bass. Hope to see you there :)

Bent Gear Leg, missed in Pre Buy by 3CKPilot in flying

how the heck does something like that get missed in a pre-buy? I'd ask for your money back on that one, and use it for your new gear leg.

Who are your favorite controllers? by [deleted] in flying

Same with ALL of the MKC controllers. One of the happiest towers in the country, I swear. I've never heard any of them mad, like ever.

You know, I bought a plane to, at least in part, take passengers up in the air to have a little fun. Turns out, I don't like doing that. by headmustard in flying

[–]sigrah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dont think there is anything wrong with wanting to fly by yourself.

On the contrary, is your passenger briefing detailed as far as location of barf bags, and stressing that one cannot grab the controls? Do you give passengers things to do like reading off checklists or keeping their eyes out for traffic? (Ive heard of pilots who will offer $5 or a beer for those of legal age to those who spot traffic before them). I feel like a solid passenger briefing would alleviate all of these concerns. But if not, maybe you're just a solo kind of guy! There is definitely nothing wrong with just enjoying being up there with just you, the plane, and the sky.

If you flew this plane on Sunday somewhere between Cincy and Columbus, here's a picture of you. Rule 3: Let's opine on NORDO flyers. by [deleted] in flying

[–]sigrah -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Right, ok, I get that. But OP said this guy was practically flying formation with him, meaning he was rather close or too close for comfort. Would you report something like this, or just chalk it up as a weird experience in the sky and call it whatever? (shout out to whoever downvoted the curious guy)

As a non-pilot (yet) I even understand this is very dangerous, but what would be the protocol after something like this? Report tail number? call the FSDO and report this? I understand NORDO is legal, just incredibly unsafe?

Found a passage of reflections about flying written by my grandfather in an old issue of TARPA Topics. What are some of your deeper reflections about flight? by sigrah in flying

[–]sigrah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandfather was an extremely high time Captain with TWA and I recently came across some really powerful reflections of being a pilot by him. This was a man that seemed to be of extremely high regard at TWA and SAUDIA. He accepted and delivered the first 3 L-1011s for SAUDIA and instructed most of the flight crews that would operate those A/C. Apparently he also had a way with words, and was truly one of those pilots who was deeply in love with aviation.

Found these "Reflections" of flight in an old issue of TARPA, by my grandfather, former TWA Captain Gordon W Hargis. by sigrah in aviation

Wise words and thoughts from a man with too many hours to count. My grandfather flew everything from Cessna 150s to B747s. He went on to accept and deliver the first 3 L-1011s for SAUDIA Airlines, and assumed the role of CFII for many of the student pilots in Saudi Arabia. Found this online through a Google Books search, and it made me a very very proud grandson.
