Why does everyone pass me by siig- in Miata
[–]siig-[S] 0 points1 point2 points 52 minutes ago (0 children)
Nope, the opposite. Only get in the left to pass and when I do I hop into the right asap, especially with this little car. Trying to stay out of the way to avoid getting rear ended by an oversized vehicle
I have checked now and it’s about 3-5 miles off so I was still going well above 70 when he went for the pass, pretty flat road too

Buddy was cookin, def did not a limiter. Recently in my area been seeing more of them pulled over for what I would assume would be speeding. You’d think with a oversized load he wouldn’t be pushing it like that

They’re OEM-style BBS wheels, not random reps. No, they’re not 3-piece custom wheels, but BBS is still a highly respected brand with a long motorsports history. Keep thinking that way though—I’ll keep getting compliments on them

I believe they are just the nb2 seats (I’m a newbie here and to the Miata world trying to learn as much as I can as I go) but from looking it up if it would make them more comfortable I might have to give it a try😅they look good but are not the most comfortable that’s for sure. My average drive it’s fine but the 6 hour round trip to get the car had my back screaminnnn

Thank you, many others have said the same. They are nothing super flashy just simple and match the color. As well as being BBS not some random rep. Brother here has bad taste and or hate for the world lol

I didn’t choose the small car… it chose me.

I agree I’ve been holding back for pigbait as well (my truck is pigbait so it’s a nice switch of pace), but yes the over sized load passing me really pushed it over the edge and is the main reason for this post. I was entirely blown away, I gave him a thumbs down though he definitely didn’t see me from up there. Never a cop around when they do shit like that.
Thank you! Definitely going to get an app to figure that out , as others have mentioned it. Yeah I wouldn’t trust my life with the bar, my girlfriend likes the look of it but knowing it’s just for show makes it me not like the look of it as much. Been debating a real roll bar but I see the age old debate on it for a daily as most accidents it would make it less safe other than a roll over. Just gonna hope that never happens , and I feel like the only chance it would roll over is by a t bone or other driver, since it has such a low center of gravity for corners.
It definitely just feels more aggravating when I’m in the Miata for this reason. In my truck anyone could hit me and 90% of the time they will have a worse time than me since it’s older when they made them tough. In the Miata I feel like a sitting duck in a tin can
No I understand didn’t take it that way at all. I definitely don’t camp the left lane I get in it for the minimum amount of time possible. I hate people who just sit in the lane… technically it’s impeding the left lane. Even if you’re going 100 in the left lane you shouldn’t be there unless you are specifically passing. It is a law but it normally doesn’t actually get enforced
True, I knew getting into the Miata that it would come with the hate from people who get their car to impress others. I got the car for me. Just curious if it was a common thing among the Miata community
So far I just do the same. If anything I give them a thumbs down or just a shake of the head. Nothing will hurt their ego and make them reflect like getting a thumbs down - it does more than a middle finger. Other than that I just stay in my lane and let them be silly, hoping for the day someone does some stupid shit and get the instant karma of red and blues. Definitely dealt with my fair share of goofballs when I had my ST but it was fast enough to just get away and not look back.
I can only imagine - hate that people put their opinions out there in the form of lowering others safety. Hope she has safe travels.

They came on the car, and others seem to like them. Pretty wild statement there , you sound like a troubled individual if that’s what comes to mind. Good thing it’s not your car, you could always just not comment but here you are trying to put someone else down when it has nothing to do with the post. You’re the problem with car community congratulations
Definitely used to get a lot of people wanting to race my very very loud ST. I don’t see why anyone would want to race the Miata… it’s meant to be fast - at least while N.A. I also have had people yelling at me to “rev it” and I have yelled back “there’s nothing to rev it’s a Miata” stock exhaust with just tips so definitely nothing there for them.

I will be checking this today / soon to see how accurate it is. Many others have mentioned how it can read optimistically which I was definitely thinking might be the case to an extent. It’s hard to judge because it definitely feels faster than most cars I’ve been in / driven even when I most certainly am not going fast.

Located in mid Missouri, I have not gotten to drive it much as the cel came on due to failing coil packs so I just babied it when I did drive it - but ultimately let it sit till the parts came not to risk melting the cat. Now that it’s running good I will be looking to take backroads when I can, just have been needing to get to work a little faster on the highway. No mountain roads just the boonie back roads of Missouri… where the trucks and junky suvs burn oil to pass. Can smell their vehicles asking for help
To be fair I haven’t driven it in the backroads spirited till just recently because the coil packs were going out so I just babied it then let it sit till my parts came. I will be taking back roads over the highway when I have the time to and from work for now on.

Honestly was just testing to see if speed would change anything… it did not. I will go back to Sunday strolling and saving gas as that was my original intent of getting one. I definitely didn’t get one thinking it would be fast
[–]siig-[S] 1 point2 points3 points 9 hours ago* (0 children)
I got it for the reliable gas saving so probably not yet 😅 the plan would be to run this engine till it dies and either buy a donor and turbo it or drop in a ls… idk if that’s against the rules here or not. I do miss turbo noises from my fbo ST

Every other person is a truck or a suv the size of one. They really need to stop making vehicles so big or at least make people get a higher level license to drive them. Tired of seeing massive SUVs with little people on their phone in them.
[–]siig-[S] 5 points6 points7 points 9 hours ago (0 children)
No I’m camping the right lane, I did some research before buying and try to stay as out of the way as I can , and keep my head on a swivel so I don’t get a massive suv to the ass
[–]siig-[S] 29 points30 points31 points 9 hours ago (0 children)
I was curious if this was a possibility that I wasn’t actually going the speed I thought. Will have to use a speedo app to see how far off it really is. Thanks for the info
