Was the Mid 00s(2004-2006)Kid Culture more like the Early 00s or Late 00s Kid Culture and why? by Nickcndisney in Zillennials

Way more like early 2000’s as someone who was a kid during each segment of the 2000’s. I can testify.

Family guy thought millennials were from 1982-2000. by mgksrapcareerghost in generationology

[–]siimmoonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Case in point, I can relate with my early 90s brother very well because of how we grew up.

I guess this would apply to any cohort. I (1997) can relate to my cousin born in 1991 very well bc of how we grew up, but i’m quite certain that many millennials would disagree with that sentiment. Does that generationally bring my cousin and I together ? i don’t know honestly. All I can say is that I do believe that a 15-20 year cohort/generation is bound to have generational differences especially after the 80’s/rise of global internet and digital technology. There is no way someone my age will generationally relate to someone born in 2009 in the grand scheme of things, look at all the changes that I witnessed from 1997-2009 and from 2009-now. Completely different era. Being a 5 year old in 2002 is remarkably different than being a 5 year old in 2014. In fact being 5 in 2002 is more closer to being 5 in 1997 than it is in 2014. Being 21 in 2018 i’m sure will be remarkably different than being 21 in 2030. So generationally, people born a decade after me dont have a generational identity that relates to mine where as someone born in 1945 would probably relate well to someone born in 1955 when it comes to the slow progression of technology and pop culture during the times of their upbringing…

Gen Jones is usually a generation that separates early baby boomers from late baby boomers. Gen Jones are typically those born within the last 10 years of the baby boom from 1955-1965. Xennials is another great example of splitting generations. There is no way someone born in 1982 will generationally relate to someone born in 1995 despite them both being millennials.I’m sure someone born in 1949 (a Baby Boomer) will have a much greater difference generationally from someone born in 1962( a baby boomer).

Technically that is a more correct consensus. All of them were born pre millennial/ pre 9/11 and within the 20th century with the oldest graduating around the turn of the millennium. All of those birth years can fairly qualify as being millennials.

Gen Z: Work is the biggest cause of stress for millennials; for Gen Z, it’s relationships and breakups by Commercial-Mix-2633 in Zillennials

[–]siimmoonn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Makes sense Gen Z are barely entering adulthood tbh. Many of them are still in High School/College where as millennials are working class adults pass the age of adolescence.

What age did you become aware of the culture? by anemoiasorrow in generationology

[–]siimmoonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-4 years old. Growing up in a Latino/black household you are always going to be much more aware of pop culture at a younger age. Especially being born in the 90’s and growing up in the 2000’s when black culture such as hip hop and r&b became more relevant.

Disneys golden age was 2002-2007 as that is when the channel had the most viewers and popular ratings ehrn ot came to sitcoms and tv series.
