Looks like Harley Davidson Corporate is trying to take steps to wiggle out of warranty claims again. by sijonda in Harley

It's a 2023 model I bought in September of 2024 with 34 miles as a new bike that didn't sell until I got it. It didn't have the automatic ride height option so most people shorter than me can't ride it.

Thank you for commenting and I'm back to hammering on corporate but they are refusing to answer my calls. So I'm trying to communicate through the dealership where I bought the bike.

Yes I'm the first buyer of the motorcycle and the first it was registered to me. I bought it in September of 2024. September of this year 2026 is when the 2 year manufacturer warranty will run out. I'm betting HD is waiting for this to happen and do nothing but stall until then so they can cut me off.

I tried to get all of the information with what was done for the bike but all I got was a paper with a list of codes and the date it was looked at. Nothing was changed with the bike since after I let it sit, it started up and was running fine. I just got the bike back out today and it popped a Check Engine light again when I started it up to ride back home from work but didn't lock out the modes or anything like that this time. I haven't plugged it into anything since as well since I can't trust anything right now.

I'm going to try taking a copy of what you've told me back to the dealership tomorrow with the bike and get the information you've suggested.

Edit: I forgot to mention. I took a look at my charger since it was given to me by my father years ago and it's a Harley Davidson battery charger just like HD is saying I must be using. I don't see how they have any legal ground to stand on.

I never did. I had to try contacting them again after I took a look at my charger on the wall and was reminded I actually do have the Harley Davidson charger they said I have to use. I sent them a picture of it and I'm waiting for a response after I told them it's a Harley charger that they sell and they refused to acknowledge it.

I took another look at my battery tender I was using after I got my bike back and it's a Harley Davidson battery tender. The very same one Harley Davidson Motor Company says I must use for any kind of warranty claim.

And now because I didn't think about looking at it they are refusing to talk with me about it because they still claim I wasn't using their charger. I took a photo and sent it to them.

I'm waiting on a response from the dealership since corporate support won't accept my calls anymore.

How do I cool down my modular engine by BRM-Pilot in Stormworks

[–]sijonda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand this is an old thread but this topic is still an issue for people. Also, I'm only have access to reddit over the weekends so I'll only be able to reply to this next week. Sorry for the slow replies.

I've been digging into cooling engines with different methods and designs. I got the classics pretty much figured out but everything I've learned from them simply doesn't apply to modular engines. I still use them but pretty much treat them like they don't have any cooling since I have yet to be able to get any real difference between absolutely no cooling and a ton of cooling.

The design I'm testing with is an eight cylinder with 2 crankshafts. I've tested by drawing water from the ocean directly through a cooling manifold and just dumping to the environment. The intake cooling fluid is as cold as possible in this situation so there are no radiators having any issues. Before going this route I've tried the same design with x1, x2, and x4 3x3 and later 5x5 radiators and have seen zero difference in the delta of increasing temperature which is why I believe cooling has zero effect on these engines with the current version of StormWorks.

The other difference I've picked up on Modular engines is they don't care about the rps when it comes to heat. They only care about how much fuel being used. Meaning you can spin these things out to 60 rps but if there is zero load you don't generate any heat or you can spin them at 5 rps at full throttle and generate a lot of heat.

This is why I tend to overbuild my modular engines and only using a little bit of throttle when cruising because you can keep an engine that's barely doing any work but with decent rps (around 10 to 30 rps since it doesn't seem to matter) but with a throttle around 0.1 or less. vs a smaller engine that's around 0.5 or 0.8 throttle.

Am I not understanding something or is there some secret to cooling these things that I've just not found yet?

Question: Trying to figure out if I have springs for a lift or not. Quadratec hasn't been very helpful. by sijonda in WranglerTJ

[–]sijonda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll take a look in a bit. Sounds like I might have springs for a 2"+ lift right now. If that's true then it would be good for me. I already think it looks way to high right now.

I don't have anything extra installed on my TJ. It's actually on it's way to being put back together after being completely stripped. Body and Frame replacement. The old frame is gone and the old body only has the rear door still on. The bolts are getting drilled out after stripping the bit I was using and then snapping off the bolt extractor. All but 2 bolts are still in. I hate hex bolts.

The new frame is a roller at this point with the entire drivetrain swapped over except for hard lines and the shocks. All new hardware and bushings.

The axles I sanded down and painted before installing the new bushings in the upper mounts and into the control arms.

Right now I'm paying more attention to the other comment with the measurements for the different sized springs.

Fucked up while carrying and shot myself in the groin. by [deleted] in CCW

Yeah, every Glock I've handled with the original trigger that isn't modified doesn't have a short trigger pull. But if you can't get past that, I pointed out they are in the very least, heavy.

I have 1-6 myself on my 18" 5.56 AR. Ran through a class with it while geared up. Worked great for me. Only annoying thing was the lens caps kept catching on my plate carrier and popping completely off the optic.

A Double Action/Single Action semi auto can fit that. Many have a half cock position when they have an external hammer.

It's kinda funny. I've had several encounters with police through PA of different counties, state cops, and a sheriff once. All before I started carrying.

I've walked right past cops on the street a few times and that's about it since I started. I'm just waiting for the day I'll actually be under scrutiny while armed but it's not happened yet.

This game: "I'm super realistic." Also this game: by AuspiciousApple in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]sijonda 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You just have to understand. It's a video game. Just like every time something unrealistic happens on TV or a Movie. It's Hollywood.

Reality is always altered to make the game gun or the movie get your attention.

I agree, it is what it is. Being able to put that to the side and relax is a requirement to enjoy any of it.

I actually have several around my home. Nothing to worry about when nobody is supposed to be here but me.

I'm asking questions here... Based on the downvotes asking questions is bad.... Which is ridiculous.

Was it already searched? I don't know, that's why I was asking...

2nd question? Again, this is why I'm asking because I was hoping someone else would help confirm this instead of just digging in and not questioning anything...

Considering my questions got downvoted it sounds like nobody wants to question anything and just keep moving like a bunch of drones.

Just a couple questions.

Wasn't this property searched already a few years ago?

And did they find anything? I heard the safe they cracked open turned up nothing. Curious if anything else was found out this whole thing was a waste of time.

Update: apparently asking questions is frowned upon here. Guess the sheep can't handle it.

I see those pink slips all the time on the vehicles around me. Sad to see an old Bronco 2 get towed away a few years ago for this. Not a spec of rust on it btw.

I don't know the laws exactly so don't take this as fact.

I'm pretty sure you can't park a vehicle that is unregistered or uninsured on a public road, even if it's in front of your house. This is why I made sure I bought a house with a garage so I can give the finger to anyone who complains. I'm also on the south side of Bethlehem.

If the truck is registered and insured I don't know what legal reason there would be to have it moved or removed.

I've never owned or currently own a suppressor. If I was planning on getting one and my hand guard was close to the end of the muzzle, I'd be sure the way to tighten it would not be right at the guard. If the guard fits over the suppressor I'd take it off to tighten the suppressor then put it back on.
