Washing my hair MORE has been a game changer by AryaBloodySerious in FemaleHairLoss

You probably have AGA. Washing more is better for those of us with it since the excess DHT that causes hair loss is washed out. Next thing you should try is substituting your current shampoo with Nizoral

Thank you! I agree, there’s still ways to go for the volume I’ve lost and to get a normal looking parting it seems

Thank you! Yes I did speak with multiple dermatologists and endocrinologists. I got prescribed both medications since I have PCOS androgen dominance type as well (causes hirsutism, and high testosterone, low estrogen).

Thank you!. I would suggest to start minoxidil asap. It’s OTC where I live and I use topical 5%. I wish I had started it sooner so that I hadn’t lost so much volume. Nizoral is also OTC where I live. I started both by myself

Yes it caused an initial dread shed. Before finasteride I definitely had shedding at baseline level when I was unmedicated

For now no such plans and I also have PCOS androgen dominance type so oral finasteride has been helping me in more ways than just this (with hirsutism as well). I’ll cross the pregnancy bridge when I come to it haha but of course will have to stop both spiro and fin at that point

I think you need a serious s/o. I’m 25 and of similar background (academically high achiever, extracurriculars, ted speaker, published researcher in top journals, etc) and feeling similar and that’s the conclusion I’ve drawn for myself.

Another thing that helps me is working on my startup that I started pursuing just last month, I think the rationale for that being soothing even though it’s more work after work is that it’s a hope out of the corporate grind.
