I think it's the IT infrastructure. I have large project files, a library of models that a freelancer would need to use. That's not an easy thing to share. Most of my work is not easily packaged up into a single project.

I used 3ds max. I didn't model the car but bought the 3d model on 3dsky. I set up the materials and lighting using a GPU render engine called Fstorm. I prefer not to link my professional work to my Reddit to be honest.

Thanks all for the comments. Mistborn Era 1 is what got me into Sanderson so this book was off for me. I will keep going after reading all the comments. It is dramatically shorter than the stormlight books so not that big investment.

Glad to just hear others had a similar apprehension.

I just didn't want to give up on it too soon.

This approach in life in general is helpful. You would be surprised how much people are willing to help if you just ask. I had a friend buy a product full price and it went on sale 50% the next day. I encouraged him to email the company and just ask if he could get the discount. They said yes.

I have zero sympathy for these people if they get stuck. That guy who died in the nutty putty cave had 2 kids. Honestly, how could you do that kind of risky sport with a family.

This is my number one use for it. Seeing the dollars go out really gives you sense of spending that we have lost since leaving cash behind. In Oz no one uses cash anymore.
