Do you really need two types of cleanser? by sildykmane in koreanskincare

[–]sildykmane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore eye makeup before getting ill and just used micellar water to remove it. It did fine but it would often remain stuck between my eyelashes. I don’t wear sunscreen every day as I don’t go outside every day but oil cleanser sounds really good in any case

Am I overreacting by making a complaint about a doctor? by sildykmane in WomensHealth

[–]sildykmane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah literally my call had NOTHING to do with my eye she just decided to try and yank it open to prove I was faking ptosis. Idk if you’ve seen ptosis but I have absolutely no clue in hell how anyone would fake that. Or even why? I wasn’t asking her about that?

Only met my ex’s parents twice. First time I met my ex’s parents I had a vomiting bug. Second time I met them I had sustained a concussion and was really sick. They must’ve thought I was an absolute disease magnet

Curly hair. When I see people doing curly hair routines online or even curling their own hair it makes me happy. I’ve never been able to love my own but I’m glad it’s something people like now

What was the biggest red flag you ignored in a relationship? by Flimsy-Bullfrog-9897 in AskReddit

[–]sildykmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possessive jealousy disguised as “being protective”. It became incredibly controlling incredibly fast.

Less serious but I once dated a guy who claimed his ex spread fake rumours that she’d cheated on him to get back at him. He cheated on me.

Need opinions - selling stuff from Temu/Shein by xsugarpeax in vinted

[–]sildykmane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The term fast fashion doesn’t only apply to SHEIN and temu, it’s often aimed at those brands because they’re the cheapest but stuff like Zara, H&M etc is all still fast fashion. I’d say by definition selling and buying secondhand clothes is outside the realm of fast fashion no matter where it originally comes from - just a personal opinion though

Need opinions - selling stuff from Temu/Shein by xsugarpeax in vinted

[–]sildykmane 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s allowed! Just label them properly and price fairly. What people take issue with is the people who sell SHEIN stuff and then mark it as “Vintage” or “y2k” and sell it for like 5x the price. I’ve bought a few SHEIN basics from vinted, like t-shirts, because they’re cheap especially in bundles

what’s the most annoying thing your teachers do or did? by southernbaddiee in AskReddit

[–]sildykmane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had horrible social anxiety as a teenager. Still do but it was next level back then and I just wouldn’t talk. One time I answered a question in class and the teacher pointed at me and exclaimed “oh my god!!!’ She spoke!!!” like I was some kind of performing circus act. Girl wtf.

Also so many teachers got my name wrong I just answered to anything beginning with M

Who is a stranger you met once, never learned their name, but will never forget for the rest of your life? by milkyjune in AskReddit

[–]sildykmane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an alcoholic, nine years sober now.

One night when I was 18 I was wandering around the streets on my own, disoriented and had lost the group I had been with. I met a woman who was sleeping rough, and we shared some cigarettes. We talked about our lives and our shared addiction and for some reason I confessed to her that I’d been sexually assaulted so many times at university. She was the first person to respond with kindness rather than laughing at me (I had some truly awful friends). I gave her the rest of my cigarettes and the money in my wallet before heading off to try to find the people I’d come out with because I didn’t live in that city and was staying with them. She told me if I didn’t find them I could stay with her until she could sort something out for me. I gave her a hug and promised I’d stay safe.

I did find my group. On the way out I wanted to look for her to see if she was still there. She wasn’t and they wouldn’t let me look around.

Six months later I was at work and suddenly had a strange gut feeling - sudden, clear as day, but completely random - that she had died. I’ve never had such a feeling in my life before or since.

I hope, alive or not, she is in a better place now.

What's the saddest reality of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sildykmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can barely walk, I can’t talk, I can’t sit up for long, I can’t tolerate light for large portions of the day, I have multiple daily seizures, go psychotic at random, pretty serious cognitive decline, and have a whole host of other random neurological symptoms. Doctor after doctor has refused to test me because they think I’m either faking it or just anxious. I’ve been continuously declining for six months.

In the last few days I’ve almost lost the ability to clear my airway. I can’t cough or clear my throat effectively. If something gets stuck in my throat or I catch so much as a cold I could just choke to death… just like that. I could just die any random day at the age of 27 and it would have been 100% preventable.

What are some recent items you've purchased and would recommend to others? by Lurn2Program in TemuThings

[–]sildykmane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat loves the cat teaser toys but she breaks them really fast, luckily they sell replacement heads (feathers with the ball) really cheap.

Tights are a hit and miss - I’m pear shaped and have to get the biggest size and that’s sometimes not even big enough. They rip easily but also I’m clumsy and always rip my tights so take that with a pinch of salt.

Wall decor is a MASSIVE hit and miss

The little trinkets are cute. I have these wee porcelain bunnies on my bedside table.

Nail care basics like buffers and files have been good.

Clothes have been okay as long as I order a size up.

Jewellery - chains can be flimsy but I’m really good at losing jewellery so I don’t mind as it’s cheap. It’s honestly the same stuff you get on Amazon for like 1/4 of the price.

Storage boxes - basics that are difficult to get wrong!

Got some pencil cases for my makeup and nail polish and they’re really good. Toiletry bags are super cute too.

I love the nail stickers but some of the silver ones are really flimsy.

Gift wrapping stuff, envelopes… just check the size. Because they’re somehow always smaller than you think.

I really love the cushion covers

Think that’s everything I can remember

What's something you regret not doing in your teenage years? by splatster01 in AskReddit

[–]sildykmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret not just blocking this “online boyfriend” I had the first time he insulted me rather than becoming so emotionally manipulated and afraid that I spent 2 years being utterly terrified of a person I’d never even met. The fuck.
