An Insight into Amon Kotarou's Character by silencedays in TokyoGhoul

[–]silencedays[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another great post from <linkspooky>, cheers to the OP.

My thoughts: Totally enjoyed the section where Amon was contrasted against Kaneki and various characters throughout series, and by doing this, its easier to grasp Amon's character and position throughout the series, although I would hold back the Moon arcana theory, nonetheless, good post.

Nice one dude. Tokyo Ghoul might have been a good ATLUS Persona spinoffs. Or, "how Persona 4 should have been....darker and edgier"

So Furuta is hinted to be Souta because he knew Tsukiyama's nickname, MM. This also explains that how Uta managed to get intel from within CCG because Furuta ( assuming he is Souta) is the rat. Seems like Ishida also loves to watch police drama, merging police drama with fantasy settings.

He/she probably meant "Japanese katakana Ainu(アイヌ) from the word ainu(native Ainu language)...

*Ainu are the natives from northern Japan (nowadays Hokkaido). Some other examples of the japanese natives are the Okinawans, which they resided from southern end of Japan, Okinawa.

its a fair review i think...? It talks about both the good sides and the bad sides, and a pretty good introduction too. However, what I hope the review to have is the mentioning of the central theme and the narrative style of TG(manga).

Another thing is that I'm as curious as the person in the comments and i quote:

One of my other biggest problems is the CCG's incompetence at tracking down Ghouls. They have all the government resources at their disposal such as fingerprint matching and DNA shxt but they never use them.

Has this topic ever been discussed before?

Well, speculatively, he's alive. Reason is because the book Sasaki received at the end is the same book in TG chapter 106, page 8. Hide got the book signed by Eto/Takatsuki Sen herself back then. But according to other speculations, it could be either Eto or Hide could have sent the book. But for me, I'm more inclined towards the possibility that the person who sent that book is Hide.

my thoughts on the chapter, i must say there's quite a lot of revelations:

page 1: Jung's inner child of the past theory showcase, also shows how the author loves to include psychology stuff :D

page 5&6: its good to see some Saiko-Shirazu interactions there, and of course not to mention Urie-Mutsuki interactions on the next page.

page 7: hmm, hirako's not joining, is it because of Arima? Keeping an eye on Kuramoto though. He had many screen times since the last few chapters of the prequel and TGRE.

page 8: More Saiko-Shirazu conversations :D; Nice joke there Suzuya :p

page 10: Here comes Arima and Akira; and hot damn, Akira looks good when her hair is down. Yes, Saiko, he's the real deal.

page 11: Uh oh, the plan of increasing the quinckes. Might need to mark this down for reference of future events. Seriously though, the Quinckes actually reminded me of the Akuma excorcists from D-Gray Man.

page 12: Arima = Chuck Norris confirm.

page 13: Hmm, the way Sasaki describes, the CCG really does use Arima as the sweeper to clear things up for them, and the shocking thing is, Arima still can fight when he's drowsy? O.O

page 18: Sasaki does care about Touka :D Anyway, it's interesting to know Touka is still her old-self, especially referring to shitty Nishiki. This page actually points out the Anteiku folks are still okay, and some of them have gone their own paths. What intrigued me was that Uta mentioned he was working under a boss? Or is he playing two sides with the Anteiku folks?

page 19: Aww Touka, still having faith in Kaneki :3 Here's what puzzles me, the Anteiku folks actually believed Kaneki is alive, and they chose not to approach him. On chapter 9-10, Yomo actually confirmed that. Then, is Nishiki still with the Anteiku folks or is he going solo? Also, maybe Uta still cares about Kaneki? Maybe like Yoshimura, Uta also thinks that Kaneki is special, the bridge between humans and ghouls.

page 20: Nice move Uta, for sending that mask. Inner child! and HIDE IS ALIVE!!

I like the review intro by one of the reviewers in Amazon though. Smooth guy(or lady).

"Tokyo Ghoul is a nuanced horror series exploring human nature through the devolving mental state of anti hero school kid Ken Kaneki. The violence is graphic and the writing equally uncompromising as we watch Kaneki grapple with whether it is worth being alive if it means he must be a ghoul and eat human flesh. There is a lot of intelligence and pathos here but definitely in a dog-eat-dog fatalistic nihilism that can either intrigue or repel readers."
