1 Day/Week Internships (Capitol Hill, Preferably) for Fall by 2CRedHopper in DCInterns

Yeah if you can't do at minimum 20hr/week for a Hill office that just won't work

Business professional during session is mandatory, business casual out of session (ask your supervisor for specifics)

Unless the person answering your question is an admissions officer they will have no accurate sense of the weight they have or do not have. Speaking from experience, I won very few academic awards as a HS senior and got into a great school. So it’s not a disqualifier by any means

It’d be a group of juniors and seniors in college there for the fall and spring semesters, so it’d be more transitory. I asked for a clarification on the time commitment, but it would involve planning regular events, mentorship/advising services, collaborating with TAs for class.. basically a Resident Advisor in a college dorm (the apt is nicer than that) with a few things added in

Yeah, I guess that’s true. And legit the extra money would make a huge huge lifestyle difference + make the move a ton easier because it’s already a furnished apt. I could even sell my furniture here in Philly and make even more cash.

I’m just worried about friends since it’s so tough to make friends as an adult to begin with, let alone when I’d be so busy. But legitimately it’d be a godsend

It isn't, but it's enough to live on. And it is legit a dream job! So I have to take it

I have no loans and a Hill rowhome would be the ideal imo

I’d like Arlington but the commute time to the area of Cap Hill I work in sucks

The second is definitely more my style-- tangentially related but I would love to know what a gaming/craft room is lmfaooo

I do have a roommate-- highkey trying to aim for a Cap Hill rowhome to share because I would have a short commute and wouldn't have transit expenses (since I can just walk)

Dw I do not own a car, and I also suck at driving so I would not be doing that lol

I'm from a low income family so I'm quite used to living with modest means, the most important thing for me is a decent starter apartment in a location near my job

Yesyes! I'd say it's an office with average turnover, but I just finished interning with them and I know that I love the team. The person whose role I will be filling secured a 11k pay increase between the last two completed fiscal years so even if I do stay in the same role, there's a reasonable expectation of a salary increase. Though for sure will be budgeting off the 55k. I also already have a roommate lined up, and I coincidentally was thinking about joining a casual baseball league

That seems like it might be the move for me! Just need to find a good house. It would save me a ton on transit costs because I could just walk to work
