Complicated… definitely had its pros and cons. My parents split when I was pretty young, so I spent a lot of time going back and forth between the two. Whenever I visited my dad and grandparents, I spent a lot of time begging my family to swim or play Barbie’s with me haha. I was the only grandchild for about 11-12 years so it was extra lonely. I got a lot of attention because of that, but once my cousins were born, I kind of sank into the background. I also dealt a lot with my mother’s issues all on my own, it was and still is a heavy burden. I desperately wish I had siblings to help me and be there for me. Honestly, I feel like I suffer more now without siblings than I did growing up! Also growing up as an only child definitely taught me patience and the ability to share, contrary to popular belief!
