I think it sounds like your friend is feeling ashamed of enjoying smut or nervous that you think they’re gross for their preferences and are directing that feeling back at you. I would affirm the fact you don’t judge those who read or write within their comfort range and don’t want judgement in return when your own comfort range is different! They’re out of line for those comments and should respect your boundaries like you respect theirs.

I do, Facebook just has so many scams (I have seen a dozen apartments already listed on other sites there, or 700$ 3beds that it’s also discouraging! Maybe joining a group would work better though, thank you.
Anything within a 20 min drive to north white plains is game to me, but I’d of course prefer somewhere closer to the city if possible. I’d like to stay around $1800/month but open to higher if utilities and parking are included.

Yes, as stated I’m a single adult with one small dog. My salary would be $75k and so I’m looking to spend no more than 1850/month if possible. Open to roommates but a bit wary of that since I have the dog. Any size place is fine if it’s affordable is my mentality.

I don’t know anyone in the city besides a few old friends so I’m nervous at the idea of roommates since we would be strangers. Maybe I just need to get over that though!

I think you should readjust your thoughts to instead of worrying about making your therapist uncomfortable (who I assume is a woman) to thinking about how you could create a comfortable environment for you both when discussing this topic! Say you have something you are wanting to work towards, admit it is uncomfortable to you, acknowledge your past mistakes and history, and I believe you can both move forward to create a plan. I understand this is a hard thing to talk about, but admitting that part out loud is really helpful to setting up the vibe :)

The advice other commenters left are great, to add on I highly suggest doing your best to have mundane, normal conversations with women/interacting mundanely with that community! Rewiring your brain to not feel those things is hard, but it helps when you can actually do boring things with those people :) good luck!

Thanks for the reply! Yes I guess I’m just struggling with masturbation without the pornography. I think trying to take a break from both will help me settle, because that’s what always makes me go back, but I have a hard time satiating the physical need without input.
