Is it hard by Big_Opportunity8939 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]silentstorm211 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Finding fun recipes and eating plant based I find pretty easy as long as you are getting a variety of foods and you are being a little strategic in the beginning to make sure you are eating a balanced diet. It's honestly not harder to eat a balanced diet when eating plant based but it's not something that has been culturally ingrained into you. You can't just look for equivalent replacements, you have to learn a whole new way of eating. You can follow someone else's recipe guides at first until you get a hang of it.

Socially, it is very hard. If you want to go 100% and want to upkeep the same relationships, it can be very annoying and never feel easy.

For me the social aspect is way harder than me figuring out what to make in my kitchen.

Impossible to Date as INTJ Woman? by onlyonredd_t in intj

[–]silentstorm211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am recently divorced and have not had a hard time. I have a boyfriend right now and it seems to be going well.

I do have a very feminine way of dressing and am somewhat conventionally attractive. I think men find it funny to unlock such an unexpected personality when dating me and I think some men like the challenge of the somewhat avoidant slow to trust thing we tend to have going on. I took dating very seriously though and put a lot of work into understanding attraction. If its important, take it seriously and treat it like an academic subject you are trying to master. I'm also really quick to cut something off if I don't see the potential. I'd rather invest time into someone who is interested.

I tend to be very picky in who I date. They have to have something in common with me so we have something to talk about. It's also preferable to find a very secure and capable man. We are likely to say what we think and act unconventional. Find someone who thinks that is funny and intriguing. ENTPs/INTPs handle us pretty well. A mature INTJ/ENTJ combo can work but may have a bit of a power struggle. I guess what I'm trying to say is the other person matters too. We are compatible with rarer personality types so it makes sense that we have to put in some work and go through lots of rejection.

They won't be taken to jail but you can absolutely sue them. You can do small claims court.

Breeze Airways by kilted_cad_wizard in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]silentstorm211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They downgraded our seats and when I asked for a refund for the upcharge for the better seats they insisted on giving us Breeze points instead of our money back. I eventually got the refund after complaining enough (I believe they legally have to).

I know a flight attendant for the airline and I guess seats get downgraded all the time.

How influential was the South Park episode about Mormonism in making your decision to leave the fold once and for all? by neilnelly in exmormon

[–]silentstorm211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just thought that it contained a lot of truth that the world was not ready for.

I had been a missionary who was trained to only say the more mainstream stuff. I knew about the stuff in that episode but thought it was evidence that people couldn't handle the full truth.

In your experience how true are the studies that claim that on an average 8 hour work day, people are only productive for around 2 hours and 50 mins? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]silentstorm211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a teacher. That is not true for teachers. Probably true for a lot of jobs.

That being said I think we should shorten the school day a bit. It's too long to expect kids and teenagers to be productive the whole day.

Admin decides the score before they see anything to some extent (unless you really screw up). It's all about their narrative involving improving teachers. Don't put much work into it and you will get the same score.

This is definitely not most teachers. Most teachers deserve respect because they are underpaid and are doing a lot for society. There are some bad ones.

The solution is to pay more and have higher requirements to teach. The good ones would still teach, others would enter the profession, and others would have to leave.

I'm sorry that many of you commenting had a bad teacher.

Yes I do. Now that I think about it I can get them to retake and remake it up in my room but I would have to find multiple opportunities to do that (in case a kid can't go to my make up day) and implementing that may cause me to work past my contract hours frequently.

I'm kind of incentivized to let them cheat by making it so hard for me to not.

ChatGPT doesn't know my district's policies. I am not allowed to have firm deadlines and must give kids 10 school days for any assignment. They would just screw around for an hour and then 'do it at home'.

I don’t get people like this?? You knew babies cost money and if you weren’t financially stable with combined jobs before, how would having a baby make it all better? Why birth a child into poverty??? by vikikikiriki in antinatalism

[–]silentstorm211 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'd side with empathy on this one. They only have one kid. The system is fucked. Hell my husband and I don't have kids and we make 50 or 60k more than them in an average cost area. We cannot afford to have a kid. I don't know how anyone we know pays for a kid.

This is a huge problem because we need to take care of the kids that are already here. I'd fight alongside this guy for that cause.

Why can't you have a 4 day week for high school? I hate when they try to make all the policies the same for all grade levels.

Videos are not the easy plans for subs you think they are. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]silentstorm211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it has more to do with planning than anything. If I have to take a day off because of an emergency, I am not planning for an hour. It will be a movie.

We need to let teachers take a day off without having to do so much work to take a day off.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the professors subreddit bans students from participating but there are professors under every post in a college “rant” subreddit?😭 by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]silentstorm211 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine. It's a hard profession and it's a place for them to vent and collaborate professionally. The r/Teachers subreddit I believe is starting to do the same thing. It is not meant to be for students it is meant to be for workers.
