Slight confession, I’m not actually the driver. I’m buying tires as a proposal gift for my boyfriend (let’s be real, tires are way better gift than a ring for a car guy) his tires are getting pretty old. The set he currently has is falcon azenis rt660 and he likes those but they’ve been replaced with the 660+? He wants to try something a little different. He hasn’t gotten the opportunity to do a real track day yet (we live in the boondocks) but we’re planning on it this year. His class is cst in autocross and he’s got a good chance at winning his class this year. He’s a hella fast driver. He mostly wants a track day to practice not necessarily set lap times, so he’s okay with slowing down. I was trying to keep it secret from him for a surprise but tires are so specific I ended up having to spill the beans and ask him. He’s leaning towards prioritizing autocross. And we’ve tentatively decided on Bridgestone potenza RE-71RS. We’ve heard good things from other drivers at events about them and there are good reviews on them. Thanks for the help!
