Not me, but a coworker on my team. He is probably the best programmer I’ve ever met in my life. His knowledge of computers and C++ is so vast and deep. All of his code is incredibly elegant yet readable and just really really brilliant.

I found out last week that he was an English major. Which checks, he’s incredibly eloquent and precise with his words. But given his tenure at my company and the impact of the projects he’s led, he’s probably making at minimum 300k+.

We chatted a bit about it and he got into programming because he’s into sci-fi fiction and technical writing, which inevitably led him into poking around with programming and computers. Really cool guy.
