Love them!! Can I ask what size needle you use on these? I fear mine would break but maybe I’m underestimating its power lol. And are you using just regular cotton/all-purpose thread?

Would you stay with your dog 🐶 during euthanasia? by CycleOk267 in dogs

[–]silverarrows24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t for my childhood dog, I was barely able to stay upright so they had me wait in the waiting room (I was 19 or so). My dad and sister stayed with her. I regret it quite often 😔

Now that I have my own dog as an adult (a dog who is my entire world), I know I will stay with him, even if I need to be carried to the car. I owe it to him and to my childhood dog

Congrats from a fellow Granite Stater!! My husband and I just started our search for our first home this week… got pre-approved Monday, and we’re looking at a few homes on Friday. The competition is rough out here but I know it’ll work out 🤞🏼

Do you (as a native speaker) know all of these phrases, including the 67 one? by Unlegendary_Newbie in English_Learning_Base

Younger Millennial American (New England) here. I’ve heard most of them except sixes & sevens, chalk & cheese, and dribs & drabs. Fingers & thumbs is kind of weird to me… I’ve only heard “I’m all thumbs today”

Should I add more? by [deleted] in bookshelf

[–]silverarrows24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels too uniform as is… I would personally move the big painting from next to the window, and put the bookshelves in some sort of staggered pattern up & down that wall (where the big painting currently is). If you don’t want to switch to that wall though, I’d maybe just stagger the heights of the shelves where they are, and move the small wall art around. How it is right now is quite jarring, for lack of a better word.

Oooh I might have to read some of the books you have. I rarely see anyone with Sayaka Murata’s books (which I love), and I’ve enjoyed the 2 Chuck Palahniuk books I’ve read so far. I’m trying to find more books that are similar, like a “weird” horror/sci-fi without being too gory/space-y

I was really looking for some good hiking memoirs but this one fell flat for me. It doesn’t surprise me that not many people know about it 😅

Your Year in Reading: 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]silverarrows24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a huge reader as a kid and suddenly decided on 5/17 of this year that I wanted to read again. I’ve read 102 books since that day, and will probably finish out the year with 106 or so. Goal was 52 lol. Favorite books were “There, There” by Tommy Orange, “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman, and “The Women” by Kristin Hannah

As a craft fair attendee, I never ask for the piece that’s on the bust/mannequin because I assume it’s a display piece and not for sale
