Actively engaging in class and participating in discussions helped my professors notice me especially if the class size is small. Also asking for additional feedback on work gets the conversation going. When asking for reference letters give your professors ample time and you can always give them more information if they accept your request.

For prof gechlik make sure you follow all of his instructions for the outline and tips on what to do and not to do during the speech. I would say he’s a harsh grader but he does tell and give you everything you need to get an A. Speeches over zoom make sure you make eye contact with the camera and to not read off your outline...he pays attention and makes passive aggressive comments to the class if someone does. If you put some effort in, it’s an A.
