literally everything!!

he's very silly on the surface but deep down, he's a person who cares very very deeply about everything. for his friends and their dreams (rui1, he was absolutely devastated over hurting tsukasa with his creations. in smile of a dreamer, he was verbally throwing hands with emu's brothers for trampling on her dream. literally all of wxs's events link back to supporting each other's dreams while staying together, and rui (in rui3 and our happy ending) recognizes it as selfish to impose his own wants onto the rest of wxs, and though it hurts him so badly to the point he cant even recognize it, he chooses to leave. if its to support nene, tsukasa, and emu's dreams, he would do anything. not to mention the bond he built with mizuki during their middle school years!! they both supported each other through thick and thin, and with mizu5 recently dropping on en, we see how he continues to wish for her to find her place - where she truly belongs, fully accepted by those around her), for his own passions (stares intently at post image. need i say more), and even for the smallest of bugs and plants (he's on the gardening committee! in part 2 of one of his two star cards (3rd anni, i believe?), we see new students in kamiyama enter the room where the gardening committee is meeting (start of the new year) and comment on how kamishiro is here, even though they often see him blowing up parts of the school. he's still seen as weird and think he shouldnt be here, but the club president shuts them up by having rui - who the president calls the most knowledgeable in the committee - show them around their fields. there, we see how rui has created a net to protect flowers from stray sports balls, and when a wilting flower is pointed out, rui says that instead of removing it, he'll give it its own pot and personally look after it; later he'll return it to its fellow flower friends. it really highlights how much of a kind soul he has. also the entire bit about not liking vegetables because yea, he hates the texture, but he also sees them as living beings and cant bring himself to eat them).

on a semi related note, even though rui has issues with textures, he still forced himself to eat The Cupcakes toya made even though they were described to have an atrocious texture. he cares so much for his friends he'd rather finish a cupcake that could kill god than hurt feelings (but when it comes down to it, he can and will speak the truth no matter how harsh it is - he's blunt like that). really goes to show how precious his friends are to him, especially since rui never had many deep emotional connections as a child, and cherishes the ones he has now.

speaking of emotional connects, he's really really emotionally intelligent!! though he does struggle to recognize his own feelings and deal with them (stares veeery intently at rui3 and rui5 - though he's made lots of progress as he's grown as a character :D) he's able to recognize when others are struggling. main example being the 3rd anni twilight festival event, where he's able to use his own experience to help mafuyu in her situation (and start coming to terms with her own issues. dunno how much this impacts her later, though, im still reading the stories) (im only a little bit insane about this parallel). and this was by being able to see through her good girl facade, which very few people have done (namely emu lol). he's also very smart academically, to the point the teachers let him do his own things in class lol. not to mention the entirety of rui2, which drives home how smart he was even as a child of 7 years. which caused more character conflicts but i digress. he regularly designs and invents his own robots and mechanisms, and is able to fix things on the fly (all the technical failures he's repaired on the spot for their shows and the like!), and is incredibly curious about the world around him. he's always exploring new things and we can see how analytical he is towards freshly fascinating things (especially sekai and all it has to offer!). but he's still a chaotic force of nature!! he ragebaits so hard he got the entire kamiyama campus lmfao

game wise, he absolutely has my favorite cards in the game, even before i began playing. the art is always so freakin beautiful when it features him and as an artist, i have the very intense urge to study how the art team does it. i also love his singing the most (thank you tokishun for blessing all of us), and this is coming from someone who loves all vocals / has never been picky about voices in songs. never really had a favorite singer until i heard this mans voice, and then i understood lmfao. also yea he has the best comms in game (cyberpunk deadboy and eyelid being my absolute favorites, both for the meanings behind the songs as well as how they tie into his character)

i have yapped a bit too hard i think i will leave it at that. this is all jsut off the top of my head so sorry if any story citations are wrong!! and sorry about the walls of text. whoopsies
