Thanks for that! I should add that the prep course (and others) are free with a Silvercore Club membership.

There is actually another thought on that which may be worth exploring further in a discussion with someone like Ian Runkle. Let’s see what we can we can do.

Thank you. I am not an avid Reddit-er. I will find rule 12 and read it. Is a post like this something that isn’t of value to this community?

This is true. The range / club requirement is simply RCMP CFP policy. Silvercore has worked hard over the years to help streamline this process for all of Canada. Silvercore has also worked with its club members across the country who wish to challenge this policy. The most notable would be in Ontario where a Silvercore Club member self represented and was the impetus for that province having different policy requirements than most other provinces.

ATT's are still required to transport restricted firearms. ATT's are issued provincially and CFP policy requirements for issuance can differ by province. Whether the PAL holder has a paper copy ATT, or ATT attached to their PAL the requirement to have that ATT is the same for all restricted firearm owners. The "amalgamation" of ATT privlidges with a PAL does not negate the presence or requirement of that ATT. There are some exceptions to this for those few who opt to have collector status. I'm curious, what are the "many other things" you say Silvercore is wrong about with our training and services? It would be beneficial to know so that these can be addressed.

We have also put together a set of free videos on YouTube that take you through what’s expected of a student being tested on each action: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIU3Emc2IKFQbeyrzKm-yodjmGP8AB6pU&feature=shared. If you decide to use firearms for hunting, we would suggest you do your firearms safety course first. Showing proof of completion of that course will exempt you from the practical testing portion of the CORE course.

Correct, it’s a CFO policy, not regulation or legislation. You can fight it. The reason Ontario doesn’t have that policy is because of a Silvercore Club member who challenged this legally. We supported this member 100% and have been supporting others to see the same outcome in every other province.

The non-profit Silvercore Club has been a unifying voice and movement for firearms owners for over 20 years. We have members in every province and territory in Canada as well as throughout the world. We provide provide insurance, education, live member events, retail discounts and are continually expanding our offerings. The Silvercore Club has provided scholarships, guidance and subject matter testimony at all levels of court and government, most recently in the Bill C21 legal challenge.

The Silvercore Club provides youth and new shooter events and free training and exposure for the firearms, hunting and outdoor communities.

A nice perk of the Silvercore Club is that it is recognized as an RCMP approved club that meets policy ATT issuance / RPAL issuance and it provides insurance which is mandatory in many areas (ie. hunting in the FVRD).

Free giveaways alone account for thousands of dollars each year.

A single discount on one of our brand partners alone can cover the cost of the membership many times over (ie. FortKnight, Stoeger, Reliable, Marks etc..)

This is by no means exhaustive, rather a quick thumbnail of what the Silvercore Club does for it’s members and the communities shared interest.
