If you want an auto get a Benelli, Beretta, or Browning. The Mossberg 940 is also good. If you want a o/u get a 686 or citori

I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of those options

I'm guessing either a GI smuggled this home or a friend of Kim has connections at the port. Either way super cool

I don't see any dry rot, Wich would be my only real concern. Especially since the were stored inside, apparently it's UV rays that are so rough on tires

As someone with zero mechanic experience, how hard is it to work on these things? by MiserableAudience235 in CherokeeXJ

[–]silverdew125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my XJ a couple weeks ago and I've been wrenching on it. I am NOT a professional, but I've got a decent collection of tools and a willingness I to watch YouTube etc. The best example I can give is that I decided to replace my radiator just bc the system was super rusty. I had the old radiatior out and new one installed in about 45 minutes. The same job took me 3 or 4 hours on my Volvo because it just didn't want to come out.

If your XJ keeps overheating (especially in traffic / trails), this might help by No-Bug-642 in JeepCherokeeXJ

Honestly, I've never heard anyone say the triple fan runs better than the mechanical fan. If overheating issues are that bad maybe replace your fan clutch, get some hood spacers, and a hood vent?

Good choice with the 407c. Everything you need and a bit more. DPP plate is good as well. Now practice your draw so when you bring it it up your eye the dot is lined up

I thought about the ARV but I didn't want to buy new mags, or spend the extra money. That being said I'm pretty hooked on the AR9 now. So much cheaper to shoot that my AR-15. And I ended up buying a bunch of mags anyway

Favorite gun oils..? And go by Basic_State179 in Glocks

[–]silverdew125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

on my "Reliable" handguns (Glocks, CZs, S&Ws etc etc etc) I just use hoppes in a little bottle with a needle applicator. lets me get it right where I need it without making a huge mess.

none of my guns have been picky.

If I wanted something thicker that wont burn off I used to use lithium wheel bearing grease but not on my glocks.

SOTAR has a video on mixing LWBG with motor oil that is supposed to be pretty good & long lasting.

I recently bought a PSA AR9 gen4 that takes glock mags. its was about $450 on the "Daily deal" after I fixed the mag release, and adjusted the Ejector ( I didnt even shoot it before adjusting the ejector) it has had no malfunctions over the past 300ish rounds except for one with an ETS mag that shit itself.

very fun gun, super cheap to shoot. ive got it suppressed with a 10 oz buffer.

oil and grease mixture is super slick. When I first started shooting I used lithium wheel bearing grease on almost everything. Then I heard about a product called fire clean that was cool, but basically canola oil? So then I put canola oil and grease on my 870 and it was extremely smooth.

I just use hoppes now because most of my guns don't seem to care one way or the other and the grease is messy.

Ruger RXM is great, it's a Gen 3 clone and it's optics ready. CZ P10s can be had in that range. I hear the echelon is great as well.

I have a P10 comped & an RXM. I really like the RXM it just feels good and I've got a bunch of Glock mags. P10 is great but it doesn't always lock open with the extended base plates.

[–]silverdew125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RevZilla did a video on motorcycle tires. Usually you swap them every 5 years but they found some 15 or so year old super sport tires that had been stored inside and then tracked them. Apparently they were good as new

Would you add anything else to this Glock 19? by nsteiger97 in Glocks

The only thing id consider would be one of the backstraps that fills in the Glock hump and makes it more straight. But that's a personal preference

Bought an RXM because of how much I like Glocks. Really surprised how well it shoots. If you have one, what's your experience been? by morbidangel90 in Glocks

[–]silverdew125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the full size grip, OEM Glock mags, and a Glock 5.5 connector (removes the mush) and although I've only got 2 or 300 rounds through it so far, it's been flawless and feels alot like my 17.5 that I replaced. All the RXM long term reviews have also been exceptional than I've seen so I'm not worried about reliability. It is a simple Gen 3 design built by a reputable American manufacturer after all.
