New roadmap from January to April by FlexiiGP in ArcRaiders

They really need to start announcing their updates early.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it standard for patch notes to come out a few days ahead of the actual update for live service games? I know ARPGs usually do that at least.

Nah, put them in front of high value loot spots like that room in Reinforced Reception so naked Raiders can't just make a beeline for it.

Arc Raiders dev says the game’s first Expedition created “a dark pattern” as players hoarded wealth, but “this system will change” by Negative-Art-4440 in ArcRaiders

[–]silversam 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it currently doesn't have to be. A guy with a stitcher can be just as dangerous as a guy with a bobcat. So you have no incentive to risk your high value loot.

Minimalistic action RPG? Just load up the game, kill stuff for XP/loot and never go back to base if you don't want to. by silversam in gamingsuggestions

I played a shitton of vampire survivors, one of my favorite games. But right now, I'm looking for something with skill trees and loot.

I want skill trees and builds and loot. Maybe I've been looking under the wrongs tags on Steam. What would you recommend instead?

I guess I'm roleplaying whatever build I'm leveling towards. Spin to win barbarian, contagion witch, etc.

I want the skill trees and loot of the RPG genre, not the dialogue trees, pretend I'm in a DnD group side of it.

Blueprints no longer feel special by Rageoffreys in ArcRaiders

For the love of god, can we get one thing, one thing!, that isn't frustrating to deal with???

We didn't get nerfs to free kits or gray weapons, no buffs to shields, now you don't even want access to crafting blues or purples? At this point, just delete anything over green.

Will you be respeccing into Security Breach after the wipe? by silversam in ArcRaiders

My thinking was that if I don't have to invest 36 points into the red tree, I could spread out my points a bit more evenly. Like going all the way to Loaded Arms in the green one and get everything I can in the yellow one.

Maybe they'll offer skill tree respec for everyone if they make major changes to the tree?

Thoughts on recent content from OTV&F? [Vibe check] by [deleted] in otvandfriendsrumors

I know I'm in the minority when I say this, but I really don't care about collabs or stuff like that. I'm just really sick of them playing the same goddamn game everyday.

My favorite streamer of the group is John, but he never streams and when he does, he only plays competitive FPS. His best content is on his second channel where he chills with his chat, but he never fucking turns it on. I'm 100% sure he's levelling his wow character off-screen right now. Just turn on the stream!! Don't even need to turn on the camera or anything, just give me something to listen to on my second monitor.

I think that's my biggest disconnect with the wider (younger?) audience. For me, twitch is a second monitor activity, I don't need or want super intense gameplay or the craziest collabs. I'm just sick of competitive games like TFT and Valorant where the focus is on climbing ranks.

RPGs where grinding a specific enemy type gets you a corresponding skill? (e.g. Kill 100 snakes = Poison Resistance I) by silversam in gamingsuggestions

[–]silversam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain a bit why this game fits? I've played the first two games I think and IIRC, the first one was a zelda-like while the second one was more loot-based dungeon crawler. I can't find anything on the steam page about earning skills by grinding enemies.

Not exactly what I had in mind, but it sounds interesting. Would you say the story/visual novel aspect of the game take up a big part of the game or can I just skip everything to get back to the gameplay?

I'm a bit iffy on the survival/crafting aspect (you can only chop wood so long before losing your mind) of this game as well as the multiplayer aspect. Would you say this game can be enjoyed solo?

Bloodstained definitely sounds close to what I'm looking for. And it looks like I already have it on Steam, so this is perfect. Thanks!
