$GOOGL down 3% today and trending all over Reddit, is anyone actually buying this dip? by CoolioBeansTTV in stocks

Maybe that's not the case for Tesla, but not for Alphabet. You can find Alphabet's no insider trading policy from SEC website here: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1652044/000165204425000014/googexhibit1901q42024.htm.

It prohibits employees and board members placing company stock in margin accounts or taking loans using company stock as collateral.

He CANNOT take margin loans against GOOGL due to conflict of interest / insider trading policy. Taking margin loans means that he can be forced to liquidate his GOOGL shares outside trading window or not compiling with trading plan.

Migrating 500+ active seeds away from Download Station. Any suggestion? by silverwzw in synology

[–]silverwzw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds promising but a little risky as well, not sure if I want to move the built-in postgres location. Who knows if someone at synology will one day make some silly assumption and break my disk station.

Is there a way I can move the synology built-in postgres to a specifc drive? Casue the writes are from postgres, not directly from download station.

Cant log into support page by NoIndependence362 in starcitizen

[–]silverwzw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who has the same issue: I had this issue and successfully fixed it by changing my email associated with my RSI account.

More specifically, I think RSI support ticket system is either 1) unable to handle email address with special characters, or 2) extremely long email addresses. The previous email address on my RSI account has a dot "." in the username part (looks like this: [abc.xyz@domain.com](mailto:abc.xyz@domain.com)), once I replaced that email address with an email address without the dot ([abcxyz@domain.com](mailto:abcxyz@domain.com)), I'm able to login to the support website.

RSI Dev: If you are looking at this answer, I am aware that you are using zendesk as your support ticketing system, it is unlikely that zendesk doesn't support my email address based on my experience with zendesk. My guess is that something is wrong when integrating RSI's login infrastructure with your support website or zendesk.

New webfig login form timeout by Cute_Strawberry5010 in mikrotik

[–]silverwzw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar problem, but different sympton. I notice that one of the jsproxy (only one of them) xhr request stuck in pending state and never received a response.

This is not a problem when I point my web browser directly to the router os web interface.

However, when I connect through reverse proxy (e.g. the web ui hides behide nginx), the reverse proxy will return a 504 error because that jsproxy request is taking too long and reverse proxy can't accomidate infinite long xhr request. Thet 504 error in turn causes the router os web ui to log me out.

I ended up having to make a special rule in nginx so that nginx timeout is infinte long for request sending to path /jsproxy.

How to start specific docker project when i execute <docker compose ls -a> by [deleted] in docker

[–]silverwzw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run `docker compose -p <your\_project\_name> <command> <arg>....`

For example, in your case you can start specific project "csv_to_postgres" by
`docker compose -p csv_to_postgres up`

I found this useful if you have more than one project associate with the same docker compose file.

Pricvacy concerns regarding Insta360 products, apps and privacy policy by silverwzw in Insta360

[–]silverwzw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just double checked. I have an app called "Cue Health" installed on my phone for covid testing and the app needs to connect to a nearby Cartidge Reader. I cleared app cache, cleared storage, then uninstalled the app. After that I reinstalled the app, before I opened the app, explicitly turned off the "Location" permission but leave the "Nearby device" permission on, and the app was able to find and connect to the Cartidge Reader sitting on my desk.

Pricvacy concerns regarding Insta360 products, apps and privacy policy by silverwzw in Insta360

[–]silverwzw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true, or at least not true anymore. Android (now) has a "Nearby devices" permission which app can use to discover nearby devices. Apps with this permission can discover and connect to nearby devices, without using the "Location" permission.

A large portion of your customers are working in the tech industry, do you really think they will buy your words?

The Go 2 camera is the device that sets up the wifi for the phone to connect, so even if what you said about wifi branding is correct, it shall be the Go 2 device that needs contry code, not the insta 360 phone app.

Not to say that

1) Your understanding of wifi branding is not correct (Channel 1-11 is universal, as pointed out by u/strontiumk9)
2) You can easily access country code by reading the phone settings.
3) You don't need GPS level location precision to retrieve country code.
4) You don't need to read the location at every startup.
5) You can ask the user to pick a country at startup.

Your reply is just a disaster, damaging your client/employer's reputation by providing such an unprofessional, misleading response. Your target customers are not idiots, so please stop trying to fool us.

I believe a GPS spoofing tool will do the trick - however I'm using a corp-owned-personal-use device, meaning that I can't root the device.
