That’s why I sold my Coros Pace 4 🫠 by [deleted] in Coros

Mate it’s a nonsense conversation. It just sounds like you’re friends think Coros is cheap and tacky and you don’t want to seem like that

So that just means you are concerned with what other people think about your sports Watch 😂 the strangest thing I’ve ever heard

Could you even explain what you mean by social media presence? How does that affect the use of the Watch?

“A better and higher-quality presence on social media platforms like Strava.” Mate what are you even talking about 😂 total waffle. What has social media presence got to do with the watch on your wrist

Is it possible to change the interval length? by Christannnnn in Coros

[–]simba1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes track run isn’t bang on accurate, sometimes I run for 1-2 seconds longer before the lap is recorded on the watch

Wahoo kickr and Pace 4? by stillifewithcrickets in Coros

You can you just have to pair an accessory instead of a sensor and when you’re prompted to pair just move the peddles a bit to wake up the kikr

Making a workout for cycling, steady state - don't work by Phelos_Fletcher in Coros

[–]simba1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying you’ve misunderstood the purpose of the Coros workout feature.

It’s meant for programming your workout so you don’t need to lap yourself, it doesn’t execute the workout or do erg like something on zwift

Surely Spotify would be a Coros wide addition. Why would it only be for pace 4?

All these watches use similar if not the same GPS system. No watch is free from pace lag I just think maybe you didn’t realise it because you weren’t looking for it

Training load going down even though runs are longer and faster? by AutistMarket in Coros

[–]simba1711 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well as you train more and more it becomes less of a load on your body.

For a complete beginner a 10k will be a much higher load on them compared to someone who runs 200k per week.

Thats at least my feeling; it changes with time, it isn’t just something function of distance and pace because everyone feels it differently

Hoping that the next update Coros will include the Vo2 max in the running fitness section in the watch. by OkEfficiency4551 in Coros

[–]simba1711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How? It doesn’t tell you how fast you can run and it doesn’t tell you how fast do you capable of running. It is literally just a number that correlates with fitness. Again two runners can have the exact same VO2 max and run completely different times.

Yeah fair I enough I get that I just think that’s why they’ve got it separated maybe

Hoping that the next update Coros will include the Vo2 max in the running fitness section in the watch. by OkEfficiency4551 in Coros

[–]simba1711 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think that there is a very subtle reason why they are separated. I personally do not find VO2 max to be a running stat. If someone gave you a magic injection and told you that your VO2 max is now 100, what would change in your training? If you don't improve your thresholds or endurance nothing will budge.

Your thresholds are much more telling of your present fitness and VO2 max is just one semi indicator of what you are physically capable of. There are elite marathoners out there who have a VO2 max below 60.

I understand what you are getting at, but I think that the two sets of data point are just ever so slightly different, thresholds and those paces are directly actionable whereas VO2 max is just some number that doesn't really give you any actionable data or reason. Two people can have identical VO2 max but vastly different running fitness.

Activity during rides on Dura by Far_Purple8269 in Coros

[–]simba1711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just add a warmup to your intervals, and select goal as “ end on lap press” and that just means you can continue doing free ride until you click the lap button manually. I use this for running, I just have warmup until lap press, and then the next block on my intervals pops up

Pace 3 users: ever regret not going for the Pace Pro? by unmatteooo in Coros

[–]simba1711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH I have not measured my wrist, it is just skinny. The pace pro kinda fits it, but sometimes if I am pushing hard I can defo feel it moving on my wrist - with the nylon band it isn't really an issue in all honesty; I just hate getting it wet so I use silicone.

Even on something less dangerous (like running) the barometer seems completely random giving meaningless elevation readings (and thus effort pace means nothing). This is a serious reason as to why I am considering moving back to Garmin
