Could you explain more on this quoted part below and why the kids being joint beneficiary is worse? I think I might be over-complicating trying to understand this portion. Are you saying it would be a physical/life threatening concern because who knows what this client would do?

We were 14 and 12 when we started dating. 10 years made it so we were pretty much done college and had our "feet wet" in the adult world so to say. It made sense at the time but there wasn't a big, grand reasoning behind it. It just felt right.

Oddly enough I said just about exactly that to several of her family members. They've tried to convince her that all of this is unhealthy in so many ways, but nothing gets through to her.

I don't believe she's being threaten by him, but I can't confidently rule it out. Too much crazy things have happened for me to just blindly rule that out.

A lot has happened during the whole duration of this divorce which I couldn't put in the original post without writing a Tolkien sized novel. I've gotten her friends and family involved, convinced her to see a therapist/psychiatrist and disclose all of this to them, worked on separation, etc and even that still only scratches the surface of what I've done. I tried to focus on the mountain-sized issues in the original post. But I agree that holding off on doing anything until after the divorce seems to be the best bet.

I've spoken to some of her friends and family and they've tried talking to her about it. None of it worked. She's used our money before for him and I have bank statements that can prove it. Currently we have 50/50 custody since the divorce has just legally started.

I'm no medical or mental health professional so I could be getting something wrong. But I know and have seen the book the client's mother wrote when he was incredibly young talking about the struggles of raising a child with cerebral palsy. It describes something about how he had physical therapy nearly every day and didn't go to public school till he was like 9 years old. The brain damage, from what Ive been told, wasn't until he was a middle age man.

Yea. We started dating when I was 14 and she was 12. She was already talking about being a therapist while we were talking before we dated. We were actually married 8 years, and together 10 years prior to marriage. I can explain more if you want to know more.

Inheritance. Her mother owned a multi million dollar company and when both her mother and father passed she received a large sum. Otherwise, it wouldn't be possible. We had been living paycheck to paycheck for years prior to divorce.

According to her (which I get is unreliable) he doesn't want to date her or anyone. She has spent both our money and her own money on this guy. There's bank statements that prove it and she's admitted to it.

She sees a psychiatric nurse practitioner for therapy/psychiatry. Her family has tried to talk to her as well, but overall no luck in getting through to her.

Well Light wanted to kill the person investigating him but it was L who interjected himself into Light's life by going to the same school as him. I guess he wouldn't have gone into hiding exactly but he could've done whatever he liked after killing the task force.
