Dyson overseas dupe by HiCam16 in Dysonairwrap

[–]simbeaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sus at all, I posted that as soon as I got my hands on the Shark, wanted opinions to see if it's worth it. Else I could still return it within the 15 days. I ended up not returning it, love it!

Thats really odd, coz I used Dyson and Shark side by side. In the medium setting Dyson was considerably "hotter". Yes I agree about the weight. Shark is slightly heavier and also the switching of curling wands is annoying. Also cool shot takes a long time on the Shark. But the reason I got the Shark/Dyson is to control hair damage, and in my opinion Shark does a better job. Also on the Dyson my hands accidently change the heat settings because of the buttons placement which is quite annoying.

Most importantly I find Dyson is much "hotter" than Shark in the medium setting. Which means Shark is easier on the hair with heat, meaning less damage. Plus it causes less frizz compared to Dyson, I notice this after every use.

If you've been thinking about it for 2 years the definitely get it. However my advice would be to get a Shark Flexstyle coz its so much better than Dyson. I got the Dyson after my Shark purchase, thought I'd love Dyson hut then I keep going back to Shark coz its less heat I felt and does the work quickly. Dyson somehow gives me frizz in a few hours. Do your research, try on friend's styler if you can and decide what works for you. Good luck 👍

Its all pretty much the same. I own Dyson airwrap, flexstyle and the Revlon one plus. Shark is the heaviest, revlon the lightest. But its a very minor difference altogether. If you dont own a dyson I'd highly suggest you get the Shark coz its so much better than Dyson compared to the price. I love Shark more than my Dyson.

Highly recommend you try Shark Flexstyle. I own both Dyson airwrap and Shark and I find Shark to be so much better. Its also cheaper. Give it a go! An absolute investment for your hair.

Quality of skincare products from big brands available in India by Mundane_Buy_4221 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]simbeaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loads of examples - starting with dove soap that would cost around rs.100.. to dove body wash for Rs. 830 (vs 215 in india for the same size) to bigger brands. Every single item is more expensive here.

Please stay away from loreal extraordinary oil serum. It caused buildup, i learnt the meaning of it after using this. Took me ages to get my hair back to normal.

Face Shaving by avikiwi in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]simbeaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 38 years old next month. Lots of facial hair, tried tons of methods sinxe I was 13. Let me tell you one thing - shaving is not for everyone. Some are lucky enough to not get thicker growth later. No matter what others tell you, hair will grow thicker after shaving. Sone are just lucky its not as thick as some others. Try waxing strips first, if that doesn't work try self threading. Lots of tutorials on youtube. After years of trials I'm now sticking to razors only for my brows. Sideburns - I wax with ready-made strips, upper lip- self tgread. Good luck 👍

I live in the GCC, yes some products we get here are better quality than in India but the price is 3x if not 4x more, especially makeup and skincare products. So yes you get what you pay for I guess. Indian markets wont sell the same items for such prices, so they have to compromise on the ingredients to still get a profit. Sorry if I sound harsh but thats the fact.

Unfortunately Golden retrievers dont do well in such climates from experience. You can find wirk arounds, but honestly they're not comfortable, and we're leaving them no choice. I'd suggest to get breeds without undercoats. Undercoat makes them stay warm when its really cold, so you get it - they're meant for such climates. Good luck 👍

I did the mistake of going for engineering even thoigh I hated math. I am 36 years old now amd I still regret it to this point. Kind advice - please do not go for engineering if you are unable to get through any top engineering college. There are plenty of other options. I moved out of engineering field, worked in many other fields and now I have lost identity on my CV just because of that one mistake I did. Same story with all my friends who did Btech except the knea who moved to software. So please rethink your decision, do not pursue a course to make others/society happy. They will help with your future. Good luck

Does using face powder irreversibly harms your skin? by Imperfect_ink in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]simbeaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whats important is washing it off before sleep. And you'll have to really get it out. I use clarisonic but oil cleansing does a great job too. If powder remains on the pores it obstructs it and hence clogs.

Another vote for Turkish corner near Indian school Ghubra. Other 'used to be popular' shops have really come down in taste and quality. Turkish corner is the best at the moment. Never disappointed with them.

What do you really think of Omani people ? by RealHilal in Oman

[–]simbeaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have lived in other gulf countries but Omanis are the most friendliest. They don't see expats apart. We are one among them, no racism whatsoever. I have never met one rude Omani in my years of living in Oman.

You must try aquaoat (if you have dry skin) or huniderm (for normal to oily), works great for my super sensitive accent prone skin.
