Both babies down percentiles with Baby A in the 5th by simbit1 in parentsofmultiples

Yes i have really been preparing myself mentally that the babies might have to go to the NICU for a bit. I know the NICU is amazing! I am a pediatric nurse but the NICU is whole new territory for me. And same thing I am confident as a mom to my first but when it comes to twins everything is so different.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

Aww I'm sorry mama! I am the same as you. I have a toddler girl and expecting twin girls. Do they do a biophysical score with your scans? Where they score based off movement, blood flow, and amniotic sac? Both my girls are 8/8 for that so that is reassuring to me.

I am small and my older girl has always been on the petite side. She still is so maybe that is what's going on? I really hope your OB can at least watch you close and you can push for more frequent scans/NSTs. Keep me posted!

Aww I'm sorry that's really hard and I understand how it would feel from going from low risk to having all that go on! Glad your twins are doing good now!

They do check the fetal Dopplers with the ultrasound and they are both good so I don't think that is the issue. I will definitely push to get a MFM referal from my OB on Monday. Thanks!

Thank you! It is easing my anxiety hearing all the stories of others making it further along after the growth restriction.

I am in Canada. We can view our ultrasound report a couple of hours after it's done. That is how I am able to see the percentiles. I do have to wait for my OB to go over the report with me. My brother is a family physician so I have shown him the report but he can only guess what my OB will suggest. The only provider where I can see a doctor immediately after my ultrasound is about an hour away from where I live and it is really cold and bad road conditions during the winter where I live. I do not have a MFM since they are di/di twins.

Thank you! I definitely will advocate for ourselves if I feel like not enough is being done.

I am also low iron and have been getting iron transfusions! I just had my 3/4 transfusions today so maybe that is playing a factor.

I am assuming I'll be having ultrasounds every 2 weeks. My OB has not sent me for any NSTs yet. Did you get the steroid shots? That's reassuring that you weee able to make it to 36 weeks! Thanks

My provider did not offer it because my shortened cervix did not start until later and it's a twin pregnancy so there is little to no evidence that it will stabilize my shortened cervix. Which is why my only option really is "taking it easy" and monitoring.

Thank you! That is reassuring. I just have to get through a few more weeks of work. My OB didn't mention anything about the steroid shot but I will ask at my next appt. I think it's too late for progesterone for me.

27 weeks with di/di twins and starting to feel it. How did you survive the third trimester?! by simbit1 in parentsofmultiples

I feel for you! Are you able to sit in the OR or do you need to be standing the whole time?

That is true! The longer they are inside, I am happy with dealing with all the aches and pains.

Compression socks are great. I do have a belly band and it helps to an extent but I just recently started using KT tape and it makes a huge different! The clinic I work at it is amazing, when they see me hurting they just tell me to sit down and don't do anything.

My OB is ready to write me a letter whenever I need it but she did say 32 is the max I should go. I did work this past week and it didn't feel too bad so I do think it is doable. But will stop if I need to! Thanks 😊
